Oh no! It's the end of Bioware!

At least its not Microsoft. I'm sick of seeing XBox only games.

What the hell is this doing in the AoDA? I think BTA is taking liberties with the interpretation of "serious subject matter". :p

Well, I'm not sure how this could happen. Given that their quality products are already quality products, they would have to change them in order to turn them to crap. And I think they have better things to do with their time than to tinker with games that have been out for several years already.

(Yes, I know this wasn't what you were getting at, but it's addressing what you actually asked. :p )

Bah! Yuk it up Splunge! Meanwhile EA will get Bioware to pump out hordes of crap titles on the off-chance one of them will take :)

The real question is whether EA will let Bioware stay as Bioware and just attach their logo on the finished product or will they try to do better but ruin the reputation in the process?

It's worth pointing out that EA's new CEO used to be the CEO of Bioware/Pandemic.

So, as much as I loathe EA, all is not lost.

    Hopefully.

I really, really hope that we see some splinter studios come out of this as pissed off devs break away to form their own companies...

Not to steal BTA's agenda, but if anyone's interested, we've just posted some more news, including an interview with the BioWare heads being questioned exactly on the loss of independence while keeping it or whatever way they want to put it.

Well once they've released the games they're already half-done with, I expect crappy, rushed games that are full of bugs.

    R.I.P. Bioware

You know it was only two years ago they said they were going to be independent. >_>

Actually, I was wrong, it is the end of Bioware. Consider the timeline.

John is president & COO at EA for seven years. He leaves EA, founds Elevation Partners The firm facilities the Bioware/Pandemic merger and owns the B/P debts. EP then sells the $300 million debt to EA for $860 million. EA calls it in, absorbs B/P. John becomes EA's CEO.
