[IMG] I don't know if anyone here is a listener, but he has been savage in his attacks against Bush lately.

I personally dislike Kerry (as I've been exposed to him for years). However, Stern has been opening a lot of eyes and ears in his attacks. What he has been railing against is the influence the religious right has over our government. He has been screaming against Clear Channel Communications taking him off of six stations for what he says "Not for indecency, but for political reasons".

Howard earlier was a supporter of Bush for the economy and foreign policy, however the attacks on the first amendment and the seperation of church and state have sent him crazy.

Being from MA, my vote wasn't going to matter anyway as Kerry will win the state with 80%. However, I can see Stern, whose broadcast reaches a large part of the country, really hurting the Bush campaign.

It is pretty amazing that he is targeting Bush. The vote to increase the fines was 300+ for in the house (according to congressman Marty Meehan D-MA, recently speaking on the morning show on WAAF. Snook knows who I mean). That would mean that most Republicans and Democrats were for it. I think that he is off base, but that is hardly new.

It is a shame that the fallout from Janet Jackson at the Superbowl is this far reaching. I don't like Howard Stern. So I don't listen to him. I know plenty of people who like his show. They should be allowed to listen to him.

I did read that article, but it has been something I've been thinking about over the past few days.

That's cool. I linked the article in because you are from Mass. and I figured you read the it. I thought others might want to read it as well.

You make an interesting point. Howard Stern is very popular. If he gets pulled off the air, it could have an effect on how his fans vote. I doubt that it would be large, but considering the last election, any small change could matter.

Two really good articles on this subject:

    Howard's Schwing Voters
    The Passion of Howard Stern
And here is, in my view, the biggest reason to think Stern will have a big impact, IMO at least...
All I know of Stern is the movie "Private Parts" and his show on E, but I've never been where I could hear his radio show. But I am aware of his clout. This could make things very interesting. What's more interesting is going to see what Rove and Clear Channel will do to try and shut him up. And Stern has proven in the past that he's virtually unshut-upable. :D

    I hate Howard Stern.

And now that he's standing up to the Bushies I like him too.

Damn complexity of the real world.

I do like the idea of a new Howard Stern with a more serious focus on issues, with some kinky interviews thrown in for some laughs... I don't know if it will take, but oh well.
