Idea for BG1-->BG2 mod: continuity

Discussion in 'BG2: Shadows of Amn (Classic)' started by Black Rose, Dec 25, 2001.

    What about a mod that makes the 'crossover' between BG1 and BG2 more 'realistic'?

    Like if you had any of the NPCs who can join you in BG1 and BG2 (Edwin.. Minsc.. Imoen.. et al) their BG1 proficiencies would be transferred over to BG2. Maybe other things as well.. like their portraits and sound sets [Imoen: 'You're a queer fellow..]

    Or some new dialogue to reflect past adventures.. maybe some ToTSC or DSotSC specific stuff..

    I'm not sure if I'm being clear here, but I think a sort of 'continuity' mod would create a nice sense of atmosphere..

    I think they intentionally exluded the things you mentioned above so people who didn't play BG1 wouldn't feel left out. I really am happy without Imoen's old voice though, and her new one reflects how she has matured.

    What does continuity mean anyway. Can't you use normal words like normal people. Why does every one here use such big words?

    But that kinda sounds like a good idea. The BG1-->BG2 thing I mean.

    Continuity isn't a very big word, but we use big words here because it's easier and faster than typing a lot of small words.

    Now tell me you don't know what continuity means without lying.

    Sounds like a great ID, the only big problem will be the XP gap (still 89000 when you import to BG2)

    Archer, I suppose you know what he means, else you wouldn't say it would be a good reply. Look at www.dictionary.com or something like that ;)

    It isn't a big word but it isn't common either. It doesn't sound right.

    Why don't you indulge yourself in a piece of literature, which may expand your vocabulary.

    Like mine.

    I read ever day. Right now I'm 3/5 the way through LOTR. I have a big vocabulary but I hate useing big words and weird or uncommon words.

    [IMG] Oh, I love it. That way, when people look at you blankly, you can sigh dramatically, and then give a brief, muttered definition. It's most amusing.
