#1 - I didn't catch this my first time, either, and had to recreate my wizard. You pick your specialty with the "Features" button, right after you choose your deity-du-jour. It's easy to miss this button if you're not watching for it to light up.

#2 - Go to the Hommlet inn and click on the book by Ostler, the innkeeper. That'll let you add another character to your party.

#3 - The tab key works fine for me.

#4 - I installed the Circle of Eight unofficial patch that limits looting to cold, hard cash. But if you don't want to install the unofficial patch (or wait for the official one), don't despair - I was managing fine with my customized quintet. It just is that much harder to make sure your party is properly balanced.

besides, its not *your* stuff if you can't get it without their help, is it?

I like the NPC looting. THe only problem with it is that sometimes they will loot themselves to the point of encumbrance.

    thanks and thanks :D
i think i'd start a new game as i'm quite obsessive about necromancer
my tab key really isnt working, is it a bug, does the unoffical patch fix the problem?? and can i sell npc's stuff??

    -----------------------
by the way, i've tried the custom portraits from
    http://www.cglenn.com/
it seems to be working fine at the begining, but whenever i go checknig the inventory, buying things etc ie whenever the inventory screen shows up, the game quits itself, i've spent my whole evening making my portraits... oh no :bang: does anyone has the similar problem or did i do something wrong :(

You cannot sell the stuff the NPC is currently "using". Also, the NPCs will sell some of their inventory stuff when you visit a merchant. While in the merchant screen, though, you can sell or transfer the rest of their surplus goods safely.
