My actual nemesis in the game are Trolls. I always manage to whack them, unless my party is weakened already, but I only manage to knock them out - I just don't find a way to get them killed.

Suggestions and experiences would be most welcome.

Fire and acid don't seem to do the trick.
What I've been doing, and it works is this, knock 'em out cold then do a coup de grace on 'em. that kills them, don't ask me why.

Ah well, yes, coup de grace is it. Thanks for the hint :)

My party is atm at the temple, lvl-1. Tough fighting. I'm slowly closing in on lvl-7 and my mage starts to provide useful assistance. My frontface thief is lvl-2 thief, lvl-4 fighter and a mean backstabber - of the waiting - just - around - the - corner - for - sneak - attacks - of - opportunity kind ;) my half-orc fighter is very powerful but I have to say the dwarven fighter (both lvl-6) is more robust. My lvl-6 cleric is essential, in terms of healing and support like bulls strngth.

Just one thing sucks: I don't find the exit so I can't sell my loot! Tons of halfplates just lie around waiting to be sold ...

No problem. I help when I can.

As for the temple, I found the back door through the "broken tower" and have no idea where i am, other than in massive trouble. Greater temple bugbears & wizards oh my!

yes, there are several ways to get to the lower levels of the Temple in complete ignorance. I dropped down through a one way secret door into the middle of the 2nd lvl with my ironman party. No idea how to get out. Fortunately, I had Otis in my party at the time (everyone else was 4th or 5th lvl), so I able to carefully scout/fight my way around until I found an exit.

That back door leads to several different levels and all of them are pretty nasty. Have fun :)

I have :shake: I have just added Scorpp to my party and gave him a free elven chain (the green one), bringing him to AC 34 or 35. I also gave him the great cleaver I found somewhere along the way ... I like what I see ;) Seemingly he has a low dex so I'll see if I can somewhere find a field plate armor for him, or buy one. And the next thing I try is if he can use a shield too :D

Kinda unrealistic, considering his size I should probably get three  But the labyrinth in the temple is indeed hefty. Worst problem of all: Find a safe place to rest. But my party, on lvl-8 now, kicks ass.
