You can tell I must be bored, because I have just calculated that there have been 286,784 posts on the Boards O' Magick from 23,216 threads. That's an average of 12.35 posts per thread.

It also means the Boards are only 13,216 posts away from the 300,000th one. I guess that might be 2 - 3 months away, depending on volumes.

The Pools of Radiance board is unlikely to contribute much to this as it continues to be the least popular board with only 1077 posts (0.38% of the total).

Interesting, you have too much time on your hands ;)

    For more pointless statistics:
AoDA has the most post per a thread with 26.70
Nwn Toolset has the least with 5.17

I'm suprised that AoDA beat whatnots when it has all the babbling threads.

    Is boredom contagious?

Hey, that is surprising. Must be all those heated debates that go round and round in circles.

There are also an mean average of 44.2 posts per user. But the median average post is only 2 posts per person!

So more than half of the 6512 users has made 2 posts or less. These Boards are patrolled by an enormous army of lurkers . . . . . . if they all come out once . . . who knows what would happen.

There was an AORTA forum as well, but it was closed mainly because of the low interest, AFAIK. I wonder what would its stats have been... 4 posts per thread? :p

There have been approximately 291 posts in the last 24 hours. At that rate, it will take about 44 days to reach the magic 300,000 post mark.

Although it will probably take less than that, given all the speculative spam that will arise towards the end, from all those sad people who will be clamouring to be the 300,000th poster (if the rush to be first to Babbling #19 was anything to go by).

It's still alive, just under a different name
Take a look in the Online Adventure forum, about 6 months back, and you'll see a Name Change thread.

No, it is actually closed.
The Online Adventures forum used to be the Phlan Crier. The AORTA forum was a different one, for AORTA members.

AORTA is still there, just closed down and invisible. I kept it around for sentimental reasons, I think. There's really no rational reason not to delete it, as it serves no purpose any more.

The Ancient Order of Reasonably Trustworthy Adventurers was to be a guild of SP members playing on ALFA. The forum was going to be the place where we met outside of the game.

Then the leader of the guild decided to become a DM. Various others took on the leadership role briefly, but then dropped out due to lack of time, and AORTA just kind of faded away.

That means my contributions constitutes a little more than 1% (perhaps 1.5%?) of total posts :(

At least I have three times more posts than the PoR forum :p

Chev, despite your 40 hours away from your PC recently, you still have the 8th highest number of spams (er, I mean 'quality posts'). You and the 7 people above you total 33,758 posts which is about 11% of the total!

Added 23/2/04: Based on the average number of posts per day over the last 4 days, we can expect to hit 300,000 sometime on 15 April 2004.

A slight increase in spam has brought the estimated day forward slightly to 14/4/04 now.

If spamming like this continues, than it could be the 1.April. ;)
