I'm noob at using the toolset, and I'm trying to make some unique looking NPC's. Is there any way to change the appearence of the NPC's? I tried altering their clothes, tinkering with the blueprint. I know I'm missing something, this has got to be an easy fix. Anyone have any suggestions?

You can change the appearance of the body parts, hair and skin colour, plus wings and tails if you have HotU, all under the Appearance tab of the creature properties. This only works for the PC races however. To change the appearance of other creatures, the only way is to manually edit the graphics file (I'm not sure how this is done), or download a hak file.

I do have HotU, and all the drop menus on the appearance tab are disabled. This is a human female, it should be easy enough.

The human models that have a number after them a pre-built ones, which cannot be altered. The models that are just the standard race name, eg "human", should be changeable.

I figured it out, finally. That was the problem, I was trying to alter unalterable things. Under custom, there's a heading for "special" and when I right clicked on that, it said "new" That was it. I started from scratch, and built my own NPC's.

Thanks for trying to help me figure this through.
