[IMG] What is the most useless kit? That question reminds me about the berserker kit.

What do YOU think? Post your answers here... =)

[IMG] Honestly, I think it is ignorant for anyone to choose a school of magic rather than remaining general. For example, why did Dynaheir suck? I think we all know why - no Enchantment/Summoning spells!

So, my answer, I think the specialized mages are ignorant, but are good if that is an essential part of making your character more a part of "role playing."

[IMG] I must disagree on that one.
Specialist absolutely RULE. I agree with Dynaheir not really being that strong, but if you take a conjurer (Edwin) you have a hell of a spellcaster, much better then regular
    mages.

For the kits in BG2, I'll give my opinion the moment i've seen how they are implemented

On the subject of specialist mages in BG (well not really a subject, but anyway) I have to say that Xan the enchanter kindof sucked. I mean, i did use him til the end and he was essential in killing Sarevok, but his fighting sucked (even with his pretty magic sword, which rocked) and his magic was useful, but there was no conjuring. He was mainly used fior wands.

[IMG] Well, it's quite logic that his fighting sucks : HE IS A MAGE :)
They are not made to fight hand to hand, they are made to fight with their mind, their inner powers. It would be quite unfair to fighters and/or thiefs if a mage could fight as good melee as a fighter. It would eliminate them.

As for Xan's lack of Invocation-spells (he should be able to Summon), get yourself Xan and Dynaheir, or dual Imoen to Invoker/Conjurer. Or if you have an evil party, GO GET YOURSELF EDWIN, he is AWESOME.

Well, back to the original question of this topic 'what is the most useless kit in BG2?' Well according to the info about the kits listed on this site I'd have to say either the Druid-Avenger or the Paladin-Inquisitor. The avenger comes off as little more than an angry Druid. No real bonuses/no real penalities. The inquisitor is just weak compared to either the Cavalier or Undead Slayer. What you opinion?

Hehehe, the idea of an angry druid puts me in mind of those greenies who chain themselves to trees.

Speaking of specialist mages, I agree that Dynaheir was perhaps a litle weak with no conjuring or summoning, but she was waaay better than that wimp Xan. Personaly I prefer Illusionists, simply because their opposition school is Necromancy and there weren't really any good Necromantic spells in BG. I'll have to rethink the illusionist if there are good Necromantic spells in BG 2.

Well if IWD is any indacation of the new spells there will not more power in all the schools, thus an illussionist won't be such a give away.

I must agree with those that have said conjurers are bad mama jamas! An extra spell per level and you just can't cast divination spells?!? I mean, what's the drawback... Anyway, as for useless kits I have to agree with the inquisitor. Since my major godson pimp for the game is of course a PALADIN, there is no way in all of the nine hells he would be any other sub-class than the cavalier... I figured he was the first one to go, last one to know in the original, not much will change with the sequel...
    Bueno Suerte all...

Well although it's not like my opinion matters but I say down with specialists unless your a conjurer, transmuter, abjurer,or an invoker. As for the POLL which it seems has been moved out of the way for the mage or specialist, I would say the Sarevok kit. Yes I know he's good but I just hate Sarevok. aaaaaggggg!
