    1. Monkey Island series

    2. All the Quest games from Sierra (from way back when Ken Williams run the company, and the company still had a soul).

    3. Baldur`s Gate series (This is how rpg games are meant to be. Kotor were barking up the right tree though)

    4. Betrayal at Krondor

    5. Might and Magic 4-8

Did not put Planescape Torment here as I have just gotten it, but by the looks of it , thus far, it definatly will be.

When talking about computer games, it is (at least for me) impossible to single out the 5 best. There are just too many great games, which all deserve to be on the list equally.

Although there is one game that must be on the list and that is Subspace/Continuum. Even after playing it for several years, the game still feels exciting.

5 is too few, but here goes:

    - Planescape: Torment. First infinity engine game I played, picked up on a whim. Little did I know how many months of my life would be signed away by that simple transaction.
    - Civilization. Im going to go with the first one as it got me into the series, but I like the new one very much as well. Never played Alpha Centurai, which I must one day as I hear its great.
    - The Secret of Monkey Island II: Lechuck's Revenge. Pirates a-go-go with a slightly darker, voodoo tinged edge than the first one.
    - Soul Calibur III. I cut my teeth on Soul Blade (called Soul Edge in the US, I believe) on the PS1, but the latest installment is my favourite so far. I absolutely love this fighting series.
    - Grandia. Greatest console rpg battle system ever, in my opinion. The first game has cronky graphics but bags of light hearted charm. No doubt my A Levels would have been vastly better had it not been for this game :D

    Dune 1&2
    Warcraft (as a series)
Might & Magic, Heroes of Might & Magic (putting all of it together)
    Civilisation, 2 for sure
Command & Conquer (as a series)

Starcraft also deserves a place, so does Fallout and BG (as a saga).

Honorary mention to Dizzy Collection and Prince of Persia. ;) Perhaps Dynablaster and Epic Pinball... Enjoyed Prehistoric a lot back in the time, as well. Perhaps one for Blackmoon Chronicles. And damn, did Warhammer: Dark Omen have a climate...

I still need to play Medieval: Total War on my new graphics card (actually, it's not so new anymore but better than the last one ;) ). And have barely just started Morrowind, although I have a feeling it's going to be great.

    In no peticular order:

    1-Neverwinter nights.
    2-MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries
    3-Quake 2
    4-Age of Empires
    5-Baldur's Gate 2

Honorable mention: Planescape Torment. I might not have played it as much as other game, but it was such an intense experience!

    1) Baldurs Gate 2 is simply the best.
    2) Majesty beats out all the other strategy games, in my humble opinion.
    3) No One Lives Forever is a hilarious, utterly fantastic and probably the best fps I've played.
    4) Carmageddon 2 love this racing game
    5) Baldur's Gate will always have a special place in my heart

other notables included the delicious deus ex, icewind dale series, undying, and nfs:pu (still the best need for speed in my opinion)

:D Someone else who understands the glory of Majesty. With the expansion, it's one of my favourite games, and makes for entertaining multiplayer. See how many rogues guilds you can build in your opponent's town before he Earthquakes your palace. My record is 7.

There's an expansion for Majesty? Funky, a shame it's probably impossible to get. It's a pretty cool game, though doesn't make my best games list at all...

Bite your tongue, Aikanaro! Majesty is simply delicious!
@ Alavin, you're right, the northern expansion is pretty sweet! Some of those quests are bodaciously challenging! But the nice thing about Majesty is that you can have a great playing experience even without going online!

It probably wouldn't be too hard to find the expansion, Aikanaro. I bought mine in a two pack that had the game AND the expansion.

In fact, check this link out: link

    mmmm...majesty...

    No order:

    - Baldur's Gate Saga (need i say anymore).

    - Battlefront 1 (didnt rate 2 that much was a bit of a letdown).
    - Rome Total War (Brilliant RTS game, battles very realistic. Shame i cant play anymore because of my dead computer :( ).
    - Age of Empire series (good fun 'get stuck in' RTS games, lacks the depth and strategy as Rome Total War).
    - Battlefield 2 (Excellent first person shooter, amazing graphics, sound and online play. Same story as Rome Total War my computer now struggles to play it :( ).

My favourite console games again in no order are:
    - GTA Series (I like the freedom and roleplaying aspect of the game).
    - FIFA 2006 (Best football game around).
    - Tomb Raider Series (used to spend many hours as a child playing these and the latest one, tomb Raider legends isnt bad).
    - Metal Gear Solid series (fun espionage gameplay with each sequel getting better).
    - Medal of Honour series (fun single player and very fun multiplayer first person shooter).

Nethack rules. In a tie with bg's.

Then comes the Fallouts 1&2, in that order.

    Then Half-life.

    That's it for me.
