12 hours? Wow, and I thought KotOR was short....

Did the storyline branch or something or were branching paths another thing promised but taken out?

twelve hours is a little short. I was dissapointed with Deus Ex:Invisible war being too short. I completed it in roughl 7-8 hours. But i still cant wait for fable to come out. It looks brilliant.

I did sell my PS2 and bought an Xbox and Fable.

I love it, Fable is great I finished in like 18-19 hours which is great compared to other console RPG's (Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance and sequel I'm looking at you). If you just run straight through the main storyline then yeah it would be short, but if you do the other missions, get married, buy a shop everything the it's great.

I just got Fable. I followed this game through development going back almost 4 years, when it was called Project Ego. Compared to the years of hype, I would say so far its a bit of a let down. However, it is better then I thought it would be after playing it for a few minutes at EB Games. It looked very "cartoony", almost Zeldaesque, but the gameplay is pretty engrossing, and I can see some replay value given the moral/alighnment deal. The voice acting is kind of interesting as well. I'm not very far into thge game, but I'm a slow player so I'm not worried about it being short.

An update, if anyone cares. I've been playing now for about 7 hrs of saved game time (probably 10-12 hrs total play time), and I'm not even through the first "big" quest. I've found plenty to do and I've managed to develop my character some more before taking on some of the bigger enemies. I really love this game now, its very thoughtful in design and gameplay. This game does seem to stretch the x-box to the limit, though, as the ol' box is conmstantly making noise during play. Overall, pretty cool.
