OpenGL (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic)

    Hello everyone,

    I hope you can help me on something.
    In star wars : knight of the old republic. My game cant run. I did the scan hardware test. and it says that open gl 1.4.0 failed. my version of open gl is 1.3.1. Where did I have to go to upgrade my version of it. Some friends said to me, search on the net, but I didn't find it.

    I would appreciate some help. a link perharps of something else.

    try update your graphics card drivers. Also update DirectX if you haven't done that.

    I took a look at www.opengl.org

    They said that all opengl drivers are being made by the individual manufactorer of graphiccards. So you have to go to their homepage and dl the latest drivers. Don't have any more info, as I've never had the problem. Besides, I use an Nvidia card, which run on direct3d as far as I know. Good luck with your prob.

    yeah for windows machines, to upgrade you opengl drivers you need to upgrade you video drivers (which
    include the opengl wrappers for directx).

    Side note, nvidia cards dont run on direct3d, which is part of the directx group. Nvidia cards support both opengl and directx commands. Basically what happens on a windows machine is opengl commands, are converted to directx commands, and than sent to the video card. On linux and Mac, opengl commands are sent to the video card (this is an over simplification of both OS, but i dont want people going to bed)
