[IMG] Any party member NPC is awsome enough to be a lead character - except that Aerie.

I know you guys are going to give me fifteen kinds of grief for this but here goes anyway...

Hey! I love my Aerie! She throws a great fireball and can cast just about every spell in the game. She is by far my favorite NPC in terms of contribution to the party and the only one I never "drop" for a quest. I gave her a mace that boosts her strength and a belt that boosts her constitution for 8 hours a day, and she can even hold her own in melee now.

But if only she'd quit whining... oh, well, I guess shutting Aerie up is Jaheira's greatest contribution to the party! (No just kidding... I love Jaheira too).

The best main character type depends on you and what you like to play. I prefer to play some type of ranger or ranger/cleric. I'm sure that you will find that most every class has it's advanatages. The key to survival is to take NPC's along with you that compliment the class you have chosen.

As for power, the monk seems pretty invincible at the higher levels, maybe too powerful.

I personally have a thing for magic users therefore I would go for either a specialist mage or the rather powerful sorcerer despite the fact it isn't the proper 3rd edition sorcerer.

Ragusa: halfling cavaliers is not a valid race/class combo.... yet. :)

Usefullness: Paladin/Inquisitor; dispel magic and true sight 5/D can be a real livesaver, plus they can wield carsomyr.

Fun: Wild Mage; enough said. :)

I have been a CG necromancer in every D&D CRPG i have played, I tried a monk and fighter but didn't like it.

[Edit: I forgot the point in the post: I like necromancers more than any other class purely because of the RPG element, they seem more vunrable than other mages (apart from Abjurers ((no stone skin erk!?!))who seem silly). I also like the way they play, the control over death thing, it seems the right thing a mage would do when *I* think of a mage.]

I´d say..... hmm.. A Kensai/Mage for their ability to both fight good as hell and for their ability to use magic. Good all-round character.

    There can be no question!
Go with a powerful sorcerer...they rock!
Who needs Nalia and Aerie anyway?
