Best game of 2002?

So, the year will be over in 24 hours, here in Sweden anyway. Which game was your favorite in the last year?

I'm not gonna make this a poll, cause then people will just complain that their favorite wasn't listed... Besides, I don't mind some motivations too.

I'll tell you about my favorites when I wake up tomorrow.

 

Either Icewind Dale II, or No One Lives Forever 2.

 

It's kind of a tough call for me:
Neverwinter Nights
Mech Assault
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (and the Spearhead expansion pack)
I like IWD2 but it's *not* a candidate for best game of the year. I don't like Morrowind, too many technical problems on the PC and I didn't like the feel of the game. I don't understand everyone's fixation with Vice City, I frankly am disgusted by the game's concept and pissed off at Gamespot because of the fact that they chose it for best soundtrack of the year over Frontline which does not use old songs and instead creates a real soundtrack for a really great game.

 

Was Morrowind 2002, I could have sworn it was last year... In that case I vote Morrowind. I'm still addicted to it. Though Metroid Prime was also really good...

That's tough, there really have been a large number of good games this year. GTA: Vice City is high on my list. Morrowind is definitely up there.

Oh wait...nevermind, it's pretty easy. Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is the Game of the Year. I just had to check my desktop to remember that.

 

A lot of good / average games have been coming out this year. Though there are none that are "really good" that I can remember. Unlike last year and the year before, I've been spending this entire year playing older games, such as BG2, Fallouts, UFO, Tribes 1, etc. Being forced to choose the best from the rubbish that is this year however, I guess I'll go for AO now that I've found it again and been stuck in it for the last 2 weeks or so.

 

The games I enjoyed most this year was probably Planescape: Torment and Heroes of Might and Magic III. But for the new releases, I guess Warcraft III and Age of Mythology were the better ones. Haven't played Icewind Dale II enough to say much about it .

 

I don't think I can pick one... I spent the entire spring waiting for morrowind to come out.... getting ready for the day. I even ordered it in advance from a canadian site, just cause it would take another month for it to be released in europe... and I did play it all summer. So I guess in sheer time I've spent on a game, morrowind wins, but.. I did get really bored with morrowind, when I stopped playing I really didn't feel like ever picking it up again, and I still feel that way. Right now I'm playing Arx Fatalis a lot... it's a very nice game. In many ways it's like morrowind, but without the flaws.

 

Icewind Dale II. Though Hitman 2 is good too.

 

either Jedi Knight 2 or Medal of Honor, IWD2 is really cool too but I haven´t really played it yet

 

Operation Flashpoint with both expansions. For having an editor with a scripting language i can understand and learn as i go, oh and a great game.

Maybe IWD2 as well but i haven't played much of it, only got it for xmas.

 

NWN came out this year (2002) didn't it?

IWD2 and AoM(age of mythology) are the best

 

best rpgs of 2002 are: NWN, divine divinity, and morrowind.

 

Well the best game of the year for me was Final Fantasy X on the PS2.

But other favourites include Icewind Dale II, Ghost Recon for PS2, Divine Divinity and the unforgettable Silent Hill 2 for the PS2.

 

Icewind Dale II and Morrowind, without a doubt.

 

Morrowind and MOHAA, the rest comes far behind those two.

 

I found BG series in 2002, so I have to say that they were best games.

But my favourite from "new" games are IWD2, Morrowind and Warcraft 3

 

My favorite would be either Halo for the Xbox or Neverwinter Nights for the pc.

 

Can't really say I have evry console heh heh.
