    No, not at all :p
It's a good character, yes, but I'm sure many people here have made just as powerful characters on IWD before.

Might've been better with a Paladin multiclassed to Sorcerer...seems more logical because of the Charisma requirement for both...

I wouldn't be able to advance in paladin class and I would have had to get a fixed number of paladin levels and then switch over to sorcerer. Still, if sorcerer was also allowed for paladins of Mystra (as it is in FR setting), I'm not sure which one I'd take. Probably sorcerer, but I'm not sure.

Mithral Full Plate +2 (+10 AC)
    Wyrm skull helmet
    Holy Avenger +5
    Large Shield +2
    Every God Ring (WIS +5)
    Ring of the wise (WIS +2 - I know -, CHA +2)
Leopard Claw Amulet (?) (DEX +2)
    Boots of Speed
Sophia's Flight bow (1,5 normal range)

The rest was more or less irrelevant in the scale of ethernity ;)

How did you advance him through levels? Did you give him a level for one and at the next level you gave it for the other? The reason I am asking is that I want to try to solo a character for the first time. Also what did his spell list look like? Thanks for your help. :thumb:

The spell list for paladins is fixed and for wizards it's all scrolls you get your hands on. I multiclassed him evenly from level 1 to 12, the paladin level coming first. Close to the end, though, he was paladin 12 / diviner 13 and 13/13 after final battle.

Spells: protection from evil, bull's strength, cat's grace, shield, mirror image, stoneskin, blur, blink, luck, improved invisibility, fireball, sunfire, chromatic orb, lightning bolt, Mordenkainen's sword. Others rarely used, the choice depending on the occasion. Web and Agannazzar's scorcher were very important before I got fireball and sunfire. I used to plan encounters basing on bridges or narrow passages and proper use of web followed by precisely calculated Agannazzar's. When you have two or three, you can't afford wasting any. Especially if you're not a melee machine. With more potent buff spells comming, I became more inclined towards plain butchery with occasional fireballs in the archers' direction or a sunfire.

Is there a limit of spells that can be written in the spell book, as in BG2? Would a fighter/wizard have any advantages over the paladin/wizard?

A fighter/wizard would have more feats and be elligible for Weapon Specialisation. He would lose paladin spells, divine grace, divine health, divine courage, smite evil, lay hands, cure disease, protection from evil, holy avenger allowance, +1 WIS and STR from avenger quest, diplomacy as class skill... and that's it.

In D&D 3 there's no limit to the spells you can learn.

The screenshots don't work (as far as I can tell it is giving me a 404 error, can't read what it says).

Those screens were pretty impressive, but it must get tedious buffing up before every fight (or at least most of them).

It was so tiring that in many fights I resigned myself to just the most necessary buffs and went for good, massive offence hoping to blast them away before they kill me. With stoneskin and good concentration, practically no non-critical hit could spoil my spells and mirror image provided good defence against the first wave of spells and hits. With that awesome sunfire in a large quantity and also several fireballs, it wasn't all that difficult. Also, some spells are long-lasting: stat boosts, mirror image, stoneskin, shield.

The strength stat is not exceptional, but 16 isn't low. It was 14 through most of the game, actually. Still, not bad, considering I had bull's strength all the time on me. Heavier stuff went to bags of holding, and AB came not only from STR. Anyway, in later chapters I hit 29 with buffs. IIRC one screen shows that.
