First let me say greetings to everyone. I have searched a few forums and i dont seem to be having any luck looking for info on any new scripts for the AI party that goes with you in the game. From what i have read the script mod engines dont work well or something with IW2. Are there any improved scripts out there? In part one(IW1) the new scripts i found worked great. In part 2 the party AI is bad alot of the time.

it should be possible to use "Near Infinity" to compile scripts. there might be some folks over at TeamBG creating new AI scripts for IWD2. personally, i don't think its worth the hassle.

compared to BG2, the combat is IWD2 is very mindless and barely involving any strategy. it's also very easy. you can just give everyone default scripts and control just the spellcasters manually. thats what i do, and still have an easier time than playing BG2 "stock"...

Btw, then; is there any way to import BG2 scripts? Namely to make the enemies notice the summons -currently they just plain ignore them. :nolike:

iwd2 introduced a whole bunch of new scripting commands, and the game's default scripts seem to utilize them.

also, many of the BG2 commands aren't available in iwd2. not to mention that all the spells and such are different. so for example a BG2 spellcaster script probably wouldn't work.

basically, it would take a bit of work to adapt a BG2 script for iwd2. not sure if there is enough of an IWD2 modding community to do that. i learned IE scripting, but only for BG2 stuff. I won't touch IWD2...

but you seem to be desiring more advanced enemy AI scripts for iwd2... perhaps that might be slightly more likely to come out than new Party scripts. since there are a few guys over at TeamBG who seem to be developing iwd2 mods.

One can only hope, as IWD2's AI is as smart as a rock. But considering that fan-made mods do not often follow the same line the game-developers had thought, can't be too sure if they were any better... :nolike:
