anyone tried having a dual wielding character with heavy armour and/or heavy weapons (eg. two long swords)?

Is it possible? and what are the advantages/disadvantages of doing this kinda of thing?

    Thanks

i do this all the time.

i don't actually do the calculation so i cannot back up my ..errr... argument with fact.

i reason why i dual wield big weapon is because i got two good long sword that has fancy magical properties that i just cannot let go. Like left hand long sword gives me +5, +2 STR DEX, haste and right hand long sword gives me +5 energy drain, dispel. i simply cannot let go.

There's no penalty for using two weapons in heavy armour as long as you have all the required feats (both for the weapons, the dual wielding and the armour). Using two large weapons incurs a larger penalty to hit, but if you've got a Fighter of decent level, strength and weapon skill, you'll be fine.
Someday I'm going to make a 20 STR Half Orc dual wielding bastard swords with Specialisation just for the hell of it.

I thought the Rangers only got two-weap fight and ambidex if they were in light or no armor? Would that not imply that you have to get those skills if you have a ranger wear anything heavier? Check your character arbitration screen about that one.
