[IMG] Arrows? I think that golems (at least from what I know) can only be damaged by blunt weapons that have a +3 magical enhancements, at least the iron golems in the monastery, they have very much high damage reduction from other damge types, i.e. piercing and slashing. Also spells don't work against them, best tactic is to buff your fighters equip them with the right weapons and go toe to toe like the damn adventurer you are! But, if you like a cheesy approach just fight them with your tanks and control the one that they're attacking, make them chase roun and round when they target another one, just let them give chase again. :)

    The arrows? Yeah the arrows!
Just use the 'arrows of piercing +3' you have gotten a little bit earlier. Give them to your best archer , cast hast on him/her and run for it until they are dead.

Yes, Arrows +3 and better can damage golems. In Icewind Dale II the 3rd Edition rules are applied, which define damage reduction elseways than AD&D 2nd edition. Example: 30/+5 damage reduction means that the first 30 damage caused by a weapon/effect is avoided in case of all enchantments except +5.

Well, when I encountered the iron golems, I activated them then ran for the door that the duergar was hiding behind. They all swarmed me then the Iron golems caught up, and they, instinctively, let out their poison gas and wiped out the duergar without me having to lift a finger. After that I ran like the dickens because I did not have a way to defeat them at the time. I used Animate Dead and other summoning spells to use as a blockade while I figured how to kill them. Though to my surprise my blockade didn't last too long. I just ran away. However, when I encountered the Iron Golem in Dragon's Eye I had my cleric cast The Evil Protection Circle spell on my party then I summoned a Fire Elemental and my cleric opened a demon gate portal thing. While the Elemental and The Demon gave the Iron Golem a good whippin', I was busy rehealing my party and kicking back and watching the fun.
