Is there any way to choose how many hours to spend resting? Because I am at that place where the airship crashes, and when I use the rest option my characters sleep for 72 days. WTF!?

Resting for 72 days usually means that you have no healing power (e.g. Cleric spells) in your party. The amount of time it takes to fully heal assumes that you will use all your healing spells each day. I don't think this time has any impact on game play so I wouldn't worry too much. Your players have just been in hospital recovering from their mortal wounds.

Look in your configuration program. There is an option to 'Rest untill fully healed'. Uncheck that block and you should only rest for 8 hours.

Before you ask the configuration program is in the main IWD II folder. And that option is probably in the 3rd and last tab.

In my experience even when "Rest until healed" isn't checked, the party rests so long as they bleeding want, unless you get the rest option through a dialog (have someone watch over you).

I do have a bard with healing spells, which is why I thought it was strange. I have slept before and this did not happen.
Anyway, I did look for this "rest untill fully healed" option - because I remember from Baldurs Gate - but I could not find it in the game options. I am looking for it now in this configuration program, but it is nowhere to be found as well. There is only "Heal Party on Rest".

That would be the one. I have uninstalled the game so I couldn't give you the exact wording :o

Actually, I've found if you go off the main game screen (to equipment or something) and click on the rest icon, it gives you a choice of how long to rest.

You have to be careful when you rest that long, make sure you've picked up any items you want to keep, other wise the vanish...very annoying

If you uncheck "Heal party on rest", then your party will just rest for 8 hours without using healing spells (which mean you will only gain 1 hp over 8 hours unless you have some type of regerenation items). So either stick with it, or you will be forced to manually heal your party each times you rest.

Hehe. Thanks, but I unchecked already. I am kind of neurotic, and I think sleeping for 73 days while the world is on the brink of destruction is not very realistic. ;)
