    My Solo Char so far:
I am stuck at the temple. I have killed everyone except the classroom but I cant get over there because I get stuck in the pit. And the Guardian just slaughters me.

What should I do? The only things I can think of are; try Quivering Palm on Guardian till I succeed, add a thief with disable traps (defeats purpose of solo though) and lower the difficulty level. Anything else?

If I use DK, what should I change Improved Initiative to?

If and when you kill the three head honchos of Yuan-Ti Cult, you don't have to invoke the Guardian dragon. If it helps you (which I doubt, alas), it's vulnerable to fire. That's how I killed it with my paladin/diviner.

With lots of healing potions it's possible for you to fight it with some success as the dragon doesn't seem to have any healing magic.

As for your Improved Initiative feat, I don't really see any excessively beneficial replacement you wouldn't already have. Perhaps Maximised Attacks? Blind Fighting might also come handy. There's not much sense buffing up your saves with a monk and you don't have any spellcasting, so anything goes that increases your performance in battle or makes you harder to hit. Specialisation in longbow, Deflect Arrows and the like. I don't remember the name, but there was some feat that required 13 DEX and 13 WIS and was all about making your unarmed attacks more uber by stunning the enemy, IIRC.

Must be a really hard battle with your character. Heal yourself all the time and use protections.
I have slain the Guardian with a Sorcerer using Mordankeinen's Sword and FireShield Red & Blue.

Is there another way to reach the classroom that doesn't involve going through the pit. If I'm forced to use another character, would 4+(int modifier) diable traps be enough?

If I do it this way, could I go back to kill the guardian when I'm stronger?

If you mean the Heartless Dead pit, I know no other way to the classroom.
As far as I remember, you cannot return to kill the Guardian later. I may be wrong though, played the game more than a year ago.

IIRC, my paladin/wizard hadn't had search and disarm skills at a level high enough at that point in game. He did have at least one point in disarm to make use of his high INT bonus, though, and I remember using this skill in the pools. It was around +6 together, IIRC.

There's no way to kill the Guardian dragon later in the game for the portal is sealed. As far as I know, that is.

The portal vanishes once you return to Kuldahar so either kill the Guardian now... or never kill it.

    That’s what I thought :(

I used 'Bo' to disarm the trap, unfortunately he died right when he disarmed it. :sosad:  I will miss you :wail:

The 7+ Coiled Cabal priests in the classroom overwhelmed my swordsman. So I resorted to killing the officers then 'retreating'.

After I left, the portal remained open. I assume I can go back to kill the Guardian :)

I am now at the 3rd level of the Dragon's Eye. The only thing stopping me now is the lack of healing potions.

Strange. I always thought you couldn't leave the jungle area until you'd either defeated the Yuan-Ti in the temple or killed the Guardian (or both).

As I see this problem (weird trap), the solution could be (also for another problems) to mix in a level of rogue (or bard).

If you think that this one level should help to disarm trap - no.

But a rogue is able to 'use magic device'. After this, you could have some wands or other devices that for example summon creatures - this summons could trigger traps. Of course if there's no applicable device in the whole game, or such trap is 'repeatable until disarmed' - no help will come from such little trick.

What do you think about it ? It's cheap ? It's inacceptable because of item dependancy (I think about soloing monk or other non-magic wielding character in general - in other games cRPG and/or PnP RPG)?

Of course this one probably would not help in this case becasue of such terrible charisma (CHA = 3) because CHA is the ability for this skill (I think, for my part, it should be INT ...)

You can shuffle between Kuldahar and Chult as much as you like while you have not killed off the Guardian. Even while the yuan ti leaders are not killed off yet.
