[IMG] I'm fighting the Iron Monks in room 7 of the monastary. I know that you need the Iron Monk to fall into the blue pool when he dies- I just can't get him to die! I get him to "almost dead" and lying in the pool, then bang on him some more... after a while he gets up! So I knock him down and keep hitting. He gets to "almost dead," I do another hundred points or so of damage, and he GETS BACK UP!!! I kid you not. Do they EVER die or am I doing something wrong?
    :D
    Thanks!

They are not supposed to die.

The point is to make them fall down on the blue circles- that will activate the switches that allow you to open the doors and defeat the chamber. You never have to kill them.

[IMG] But if I don't KILL them, they get up and I have two to fight for the next switch... do I just ignore the "almost dead" one and plow through the next? If so, man, have I been wasting time...

    Thanks! :p

This room is without a doubt, the most annoying part of any rpg I have ever played. Trying to get the monks to drop at the right time on a disk so that the other one will drop on the other disk and still give you time to flip the (edited for content) switch... AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! I finally gave up and just did what the duergar wanted me to do anyway...Ahhhh, wanton slaughter

[IMG] Well, when the monks regenerate they dont come back to life with their full hit points so they are much easier to 'knock unconscious'. I never had a problem with this room, just used my front liner barbarian with AI turned off. Just stand behind the blue switch and let the monks come to you.

Same here, relatively easy. The funny thing is that my monk actually killed one of the iron monks using stunning fist iirc - he dropped dead on the blue field :D so I just needed to knock out the other and to use the switch. However, brute force works wonders there :D
