I love the fact that tempus get the martial axe, because with 4 levels of fighter, you have a great melee fighter. And you dont have to put any feats in axe with youre dwarf.
Talos is good, but you do not use electricity enough for it to be useful.
Lathandar is also good, but, who wants to have a nice cleric??

    anyway,
    Cheers

It all really depends on the party I make.
If the party is high on magic users and low on frontliners I prefer the Battleguard of Tempus, and vice-versa for Morninglord of Lathlander. I'm using a cleric of Lathlander in my game so that's my pick for now.

Lathander could be good with the Spirit of Flame Feat. Scion of Storms would be good for Talos. Lots of fun damage.

Still a level 1 Tempus CLeric is better at axes than a Level 1 fighter! Can't beat that...well not with a stick anyway...

I have always wanted to play a party of clerics, but havent had the alans to do it. It would be too hard to go the game without a mage or a archer of some sort.
the mask of Demarches (whatever it is) looks pretty cool. Might make a good version of Sauron in a LoTR party. Anyway.
    Cheers

I agree, a Morninglord of Lathander, with spirit of flame feat, is a fabulous char. However, I like the Watcher of Helm for his defensive combat support spells - and I like the Dreadmaster of Bane's (greater focus enchantment; spell penetration) for his offensive combat support spells. Talos has excellent combat abilities and combat spells, only Tempus offers more direct melee punch.

    Again, a question of taste.

Ahum.... Khazraj a figher is still better at anything then priest of tempus, cose he starts with +1 BAB (cleric with 0), not to mention the extra feat that may be used in axes. And he has more HP too.

I think the point was that the Battleguard of Tempus is a cleric who can, with appropriate tweaking, hold his/her own on the frontline (which is very important as the frontline is where healing is most needed).

I like a an L2 Monk/L12 cleric of Ilmater. The AC bonus from the high Wis is great once you get that +5 Wis ring in Kuldahar. I usually give him some type of returning throwing axe. He's my middle line character behind my tanks.

I like Demarch of Mask because of its invisibility spells, mirror image and 'Executioner's Eyes'

Alex, you are right, but I mean that as compared with other clerics and starting feats Tempus clerics can...chop with an axe!

It's so much better than silly 2E rules. As Cespenar would say, clerics can smash your head out with a club but not use a butterknife...weird.

You know what Cespy? There's 3E now!

Of course a Fighter with an axe and 2 feats in axe is something else, but they can't do much about that gaping arm wound...

I have an Aasimar Morninglord of Lathander. He is about level 12 and has 24 wisdom making him a great cleric but he can still easily hold his own in combat. 100+hp, high saves, not bad AC and mace of disuption I have no problems with putting him on the frontline.

On an unrelated note what is a high AC, so far the highest I can get is about 24 if i load the best equipment I have onto one of my chars. I have seen people talking about having fighters with 38AC, while the best my fighters have is 20.

Tempus. Not just for the Axes feat, but I really love their domain spells. It's always good to have an extra Animate Dead spell. And of course Battleguard sounds cool ;)

[IMG] Even though they are EVIL, a demarch of Mask with a few levels of rogue makes for a pretty sweet character, due to the invisibility and illusion type domain spells- However, I have a Half-Orc Barbarian 3/Battleguard of Tempus 5 With 19 constitution, he is currently whoopin @$$ in that Aurilite settlement :D

Why barbarian\cleric?He does not become weapon specialisation, is he?That's the only purpose of adding warrior classes to a cleric for me  AND 4 fighter levels give you 3 extra feats too!
