In Chapter 5, amongst the Yuan-ti I don't appear to be able to engage in conversation with the Yuan-Ti in the Gaurdian's temple. I've a Paladin in the group who can't wear the disguise, Invisibility doesn't work. I put the initiate robes on every character I can, disarm them, enter the temple and am immediately confronted with red rings of recognition and aggression.
What am I doing wrong? Have placed latest patch.
    Thanks in advance.
As soon as I enter the temple I encounter the red ring.

I think a paladin in the party precludes underhand tactics like stealth and deceit.

Pretty sure you'd have to kill your pally and resurect them afterwards if you want to do the stealth part.

Yes it is the paladin that is preventing you from using the stealthy approach. Of course there is nothing wrong with boldly going forth to smite the evil lurking in the temple but you may have to try playing with a different party composition.

I don't know if killing your paladin and resurrecting him later would work but from a role playing point of view I can't say that I think much of doing so.

You could export the Paladin, kick him out of the party and import him once you are done. But I'd just go in and kill everything. ;)

You can leave the paladin in the doorway and just send a small delegation of disguised party-members around to talk to everyone. If you've only fought a few guards so far, no named characters, send the paladin back to hide in the entranceway and carry on. But note that once the leaders have gone hostile, it's too late to engage anyone else in the temple in dialogue.

You can also give him a level of fighter or whatever appropriate class that your paladin can multi with. I did that with my paladin and had no problems.

I'm not sure if it works there, but my Paladin/Sorcerer does not take kindly to things like slavers etc, and I certainly do not get the same options as when I used a straight sorcerer as spokes person.

In other words: some times any paladin levels will preclude options, other times it's more open.

I'll be in Kuldahar shortly, so I'll let you know how that all went.

[IMG] I left my pali 2/sorcerer x (along with my druid)just inside the front door and let my less lawful monk do the chatting in that section. When things degenerated, I sprinted back to my party at the door and fought off the hoards when the time came for bruisin'.
