[IMG] This question popped into my mind last night in Phlan. I made a level 1 rogue (6 hp's) to see how long I'd last running around alone.

I went into old Phlan an encounter 3 goblins, 2 with bows and the last with a dagger or something. After playing a lengthy game of hide and seek, I was finally able to run them through with my trusty short sword (there was no way I could have taken them head on!). I received 9 xp's for their deaths.

Which brings me to my question. The goblins were rated challenging when I attacked them, they had 3-1 odds in their favor & ranged weapons. For killing them (ALONE) I got a measly 9 xp's. Why wouldn't the CR go up when an inexperienced single pc is outnumbered and outgunned by his (or her) opposition?

I mean the CR goes down when those goblins are attacked by multiple players, why won't it go up when attacked singly?

[IMG] It does, and 3xp per goblin is what you get. This is key to what Alfa is about. Unlike the SP game you do not make the majority of your xps by soloing and killing goblins. The big xps come from DM lead adventures where you have to find out eg where the goblins are comming from.

If you just want to level, go west into the 'grass sea' and kill deer and badgers for a couple of hours. They don't fight back much. ;)

I had an issue from a couple of players who claimed that after a remote 'tell' conversation you went hostile on them. Was that a slip of the mouse? If you had have met you would automaticaly go PvP and open fire on each other!

Sure Bel...likely story. You rabble rouser you. Actually, I've done the same thing, wanted to see what would happen, and what the options were, and ended up fighting another Player. That was way back in the beginning of the beta, so no big loss.
