Ok, Taluntain I am not sure if you would agree with this post being here but I was sure it belonged here better than the NWN game one.

This post is to let those of you who may have joined in the Barekelkin roleplay that was set up a long time ago. I am telling you this because i have recreated the map of Barakelkin and added some of the finer features (Mayor Yolodo's house, The ogre's Kneecap, the mines and a few other houses).
As of yet there is no character scripting it is just the basic elements with a few others, I have also kept the Umberhulk in the mine *spoiler* so that it is before we destroyed it.

I am writing to tell you this to ask anyone if they would like the module for NWN to setup a small multiplayer area for all of us to adventure in. I feel that if we put aside one night a week to adventure using it, it would create great roleplay experience for us and also just to socialise.

Please post her if you are interested in hosting it or owning it.

Damn, If only I had NWN. Maybe we could redo the PnP game as well, with rules? Could you send me the map or is it a NWN thing?

    and IIRC it was Berekelkin

I'm defineitely well up for the p&p version of Berekelkin (with rules) and I would also like to find someone who could host the game in NWN.

Aikanaro, yes it is in NWN but I will try and do a screen dump of the map I have made. I will also try and scan in my pencil drawing of the map when we were rping it many moons ago. I will e-mail both to you when I get the chance.
If you would like to give me any input that you have about Berekelkin (please excuse my previous spelling mistakes) then I could include that in my module (residents details, local enemies, various quests).

I would also like to get as many of the previous adventrers of Berekelkin to join in particularly Feirhanith.

I haven't seen Feirhanith in ages.

Also for PnP, would you be willing to use other rules than 3E?
Yeah, I had plenty of ideas, I'll type them up soon and email them to you

I would prefer to use 3E plainly because I know it well. I would also use 2E if you were thinking of something like that.

I think that starting with these would be good:

30 point buy (yep starting from scratch-even's things out)
    150gp
    Two (free) PC choice weapons
Travelling Bag (most visitors are adventurers)
Adventurers outfit (same reason as above)

These are just ideas of course, but I suppose every little counts.

Aikanaro, do you have any idea on who could DM the game?

I really want to get this going, i've so missed the area.

I'm not a 3e kind of person. I like 2e and it would fit the area but there are plenty of other rules around. I can DM if you want.

Um, 30 point buy, I don't get it, wouldn't that be like saying 'here Mr Badguy, kill me kill me!'
though I am sure that you know what you mean, even if I don't.
    The rest sounds good.

    I want NWN!

    Aikanaro,

Ok well I can see what you mean about the point buy thing but it would mean that everyone who played would be at the same level.

I was just thinking, if we had say a starting cap of level 10 it would be good because not everyone would have to be at the same level. Some of the newer players could join and be apprentices (hmm not bad...).
I would prefer to play in 3E thinking about it now because my character has been converted and I am used to the rules now. I have a few feats that you may need to approve (assuming you would like to DM).
If you would like to DM then just ask and I can send the character sheets to you, I think they should be made in the character generator program (free in the PHB and from wizards.com).
If you really want to start it up, we can use this as the ooc thread and a new one can be started.

If there is anything else you need just ask.

    Ps:
NWN is amazing but it has it's ups and it's DOWNS!

Grr, OK, I'll read that ****ed up shreded 3E book I've got after neglecting it for much better systems (such as Pathwanderer). But I guess using 3E will get us more players in any case.
Unfortunatly I don't have enough of the 3E rules to DM as I'm not sure if the 2E rules would be sufficient to fill the huge gaps in my 3E knowledge
Yeah, that cap sounds pretty good to me, I'll get working on my original idea's for the town

And spam in Berekelkin would you, Its nice if people know what we're talking about

And here is my third edit: lets play hybrid rules, 3E until I come across a rule that sucks (IMHO) and is changed to 2E, as well as anything that my stupid little rulebook doesn't cover. It will be essentially 3E though

I'm on a role, 4th edit, its a shame I've completly forgoten why I'm editing this

Mwahaha, I've remembered. In all actual fact its called Berakelkin

Well the maps should be winging their way to you now.

I think that 3E with inprovised 2E rules is the best to go by, at least we would understand the.

Just say when you want to start and i'll be right here.

Are those the best mountains you can get. I was thinking more of the huge ugly rock things in BG. They are a bit out of wack in placing too but its no big deal.
    Who's Hulrik?
I'm ready, lets recruit some players then we'll see what happens from there

Haha that's what I thought about the mountains but that's the limitatyions of the NWN Toolset you can't create anything that you want to create.

Hulrik was the farmer who lived in the house in the original Baldur's Gate series, his cow was being attacked by kobolds. It's up to you whether he is still alive or there.

I think we should start recruiting but how do you want to do it? Should we send our character sheets into you and then we are in or is there another way you had in mind.

Either way if you start the first post then people will gradually start to become interested.

I think that by having this starting level cap the ones who were i nthe last version should be at level 10 to reflect the experience from last time (not that we did much, it's just more to prove that we know the place better). Anyone who wants to start can then start at whatever level they want, all be it 1 or 10.

Just say if you want the character sheets, I think I will start from scratch and give it to you in D&D Character Generator format. That way you can use your generator to open and view it. There are also a few feats that I would like to clear up with you (just one's from extended content found elsewhere i.e. Montecook.com/wizards.com).

HI!!! im back, ok sounds good! the only problem is that i dont have the CG program anymore and my BEST character ever was deleted! if you want the .cg3 file of my character for this, then KHAZAR you make my character up. you know what you need to about Feirhanith seeing as we have "refined" him and played D&D enough times.

ok im in the roleplaying one, havent got NWN so cant do that

Well Feirhanith I think you may be in luck I think I still have a copy of the old (best) version.

I can also let you have a copy of the CG so you can make any other adjustments.

Either way i'll get you a decent character.

Completely brand new including replacing the umberhulk, and starting in the town center...

"As the three adventurers enter the small mining village of Berekelkin they notice a large structure which they recognise as being the Ogre's Kneecap. The troupe enter the building and..."

That way it takes us into the Ogre's Kneecap, I know it's a bit simple but it could be strung out a bit more.
By being in the Tavern any new adventurers can meet us and that way the Tavern owner can tell us of rumours or quests. All pretty generic stuff but hey, simple is easy.

Ok I think i'll send my CG Character tonight, I think I have got him pretty good.

Aikanaro have you heard of "The Living Jungle" its a setting created by the RPGA over at wizards.com. I was just wondering if at some point the PC's could sail/crash on a mysterious island off the sword coast. If the island was in this setting it would be so new and amazing to adventure in.
Have a look at this site it has everything on it, I have already got the players book from the download section:

    http://www.livingjungle.org/

or we could start a new adventure aswell as Berekelkin.

Just a thought, but I primarily want to play out Berekelkin it has so much potential.

Ok i've finally sent you the characters OMG how I hate converting from 2E to 3E.

You should be able to do something with them and when you are ready just make that new topic and we're away.
