I am sure I saw this posted a while ago but can't find it using Search.

When I visit Cromwell now he attacks me (and summons the guard too). I am assuming it is because on my last visit to him I Charmed him and helped myself to the stuff in his Smithy.

    My two questions are please:

    1) Is there any way I can turn him back "green" again?

    2) What is the best way of stealing from houses when the owner is present without getting caught? I thought the Charm idea was a good one!!

    Thanks folks.

The best way is to not do it. There isnt anything worth stealing which would demand a tactic such as that. Nor is there any way to get someone back to green again bar cheating and I wonder if there is a suitable cheat for it even. If you really want to rob people try command word sleep, it might not make them red. I used it on a horse and it just fell asleep and didnt turn red.

    1) Nope, once he goes hostile it's reload time.

    2) Use the priest spell Sanctuary. You can open doors & chests without breaking invisibility.

exactly drumheller, i noticed anytime you launch sleep, or charm on the person you are trying to rob, they go red. No turning them back so it is back to the reload button. Sanctuary is about the only way to get in and out unnoticed.

Thanks guys, I will try Sanctuary. Can't reload because it was a couple of quests ago and I can't remember when exactly.

They must have meant us to raid the shops and houses because they wouldn't have put stuff in them otherwise. You can get some pretty good potions, spells and things at the beginning of the game that way, which is just when you need them of course.

They are not worth the risk of dealing with reputation hits and angry guards. I have done some robbering for RP reasons and the game punishes you quite severly. If Cromwell is hostile you wont be able to forge many of the best items in the game. A reload is recommended.

Does Cespener forge the same items as Cromwell? - you could wait until the ToB part of the game.

Cespenar does NOT forge the same items as Cromwell. If he can't reload, he's just screwed.

Yes, but in this case, I think it's best to keep Cromwell hostile as a lesson not to rob people.
