Inconsistent ending in ToB - MAJOR SPOILER!

    At the end of SoA, my paladin apparently made a very poor decision (succumbed to the taunts of Wraith Sarevok), and to my surprise i started ToB with a Neutral Evil alignment. Even more surprising, I was still a fully capable paladin!!!
    I then finished ToB with either 20 or four (4!) in reputation, in the latter case of course as a fallen paladin.
    Even more surprising, in ALL endings, I eventually became a "force of balance and good". This was independent of whether I chose to become a power of the planes or a "mere" mortal paladin (level 26 with 85% magic resistance, 22 in STR and 19 CON, a rather impressive character in my opinion).

    My questions to you out there are:
    1. How do you avoid to eventually become a "force of balance and good"? The final fate appears to be totally unrelated to alignment and reputation.

    2. Could someone please tell me the "evil ending"? I simply cannot summon the strength and curiosity to play ToB one more time with an evil party - even taken Cespenar & the humorous spectator into consideration.

    I believe your "final fate" is determined by your dialog choices when you speak with the Solar all those different times in your pocket plane.

    No, those tests in the pocket plane have nothing to do with anything. They were to decide what bhaal powers you would gain but that got cut out.

    You should be able to get two different endings depending on whether you chose to become a mortal or a god. The becoming a god ending differs if you are evil. Dunno what's the problem with your game, might be a bug.

    i thought what you said to the Solar decided what kinda God you became coz I was true neutral... If you're aligned Evil.. i bet you'd definitely get the evil ending.. maybe itll go something like you take Bhaal's place and Cyric is banished once again as an avatar or something... id sure like to know what happened to Cyric if i took Bhaal's place

    I didn't say the tests affected you, I said your dialog choices in your conversations with the Solar.

    Not the dialogue's in the pocket plane. Only the final dialgoue after you beat melissan.

    I would suggest anyone interested should read Dan Simpson's walkthrough that you can find on this site. He goes into detail which responses to the Solar in your conversations in the pocket plane are good and which are evil.
