    G'day all.

I've managed to get a working version of Trilogy which I'm a little way into, but now want to change my OS from Windows 2000 to XP with a clean install.

I have all my games on a separate partition, but will obviously get a brand new registry on a clean install.

Do SoA, ToB and the mods under Trilogy put very much in the registry or will it still run with no registry entries? (The prospect of doing a fresh install of BGT &tc does not fill me with joy!)

    Regards,

    Sir Feat.

I've no idea how Trilogy works, but there's only one single thing that SOA and TOB put in the registry: the autorun menu changes, with "Install" being replaced by "Play". If you don't mind having to make a new shortcut to BGMain.exe, then you should have no problem after the clean install. I doubt Trilogy adds anything to the registry anyway.

There are some registry entries that you can try to preserve (e.g. the HKLM\Software\Black Isle\...) but you would be hard pushed to preserve uninstall information, which is a bunch of GUIDs elsewhere.

I dont think you need to uninstall anything if there are no registry entries. Just delete the folders.
I have SoA and IWD II installed from before my formatting C: and I created shortcuts on my desktop to run both games. No problems.
However I cant autorun it when I insert the CD.
