I mean....if you could take ALL your NPC from BGI to SoA, which would be the best party in your opinion????

    I think i'd have:
    me (specialist mage)
    Kivan (archer)
    Skie (assassin or bounty hunter)
    Yeslick
    Jahiera (romance)
    ???

Kivan ROCKED. Dang I missed that man.

Incidentally, I created him with the Console, and his DEX score is like 14!?! What is up with that?

Well, if I had to choose, I would say:
    Edwin
    Safana
    Viconia
    Korgan
    Kivan
    Skie

Kivan was my fave NPC in BG1, best archer at least, if i could choose, i'd have my party from BG:

    Me (Fighter/Mage)
Imoen (Pure Thief, no dumb ass dual mage)
    Kivan (kicks ass)
    Ajantis (Good tank)
    Dynaheir (generic mage)
    Branwen (funky priest)

Works, well, I did have Minsc for a long time but he died beyond ressurection and I decided to try without him, so I got Ajantis and I was impressed

    SPOILER:

then we had to go kill him in BG2 ((RIP))

Protagonist (thief usually) +Kagain (20 con) +Coran (20 dex and 3* bows) +Viconia (50% MR). Kivan was decidedly NOT the best archer, he has 1* less and a 3 dex than Coran. Both are elves. Coran has a huge advantage.

That's got to not true! I picked up both guys(they seemed hot to me back 2 years ago) and Coran wasn't better than Kivan, fact: he was worse. I could be wrong, 2 years ago I judged everything differently.

    You're wrong ! :)

Coran was definitely a better archer, even though he was multi classed.

He was usually in every party that i played with.
    Luck is my lady!

    [IMG] Warning...*spoilers!*

The appearance or absence of old NPC's is what I hate about BG 2. You can't even meet them all. And those you DO meet...Xzar is killed by a stupid harper. Montaron is already dead. Garrick has turned into an idiot. Both Tiax and Dradeel are killed when you defeat Jon in spellhold.
Dynaheir is dead. Khalid is dead.
    GRRRRRR!

Opinions aside friends....FACTS: Coran has 3 points more dexterity and another specialization point in bows over and above what Kivan has. Now, that Kivan is a ranger and Coran is a F/T, there maybe some modifier I'm not aware of, but the plain stats would indicate Coran would hit far more often with bows than Kivan would. Coran receives +1 above Kivan for his dexterity and +2 above Kivan for his additional point of proficiency which also give a +1 above Kivan for damage.

What about Shar-Teel, am-I the only one who liked Shar-Teel? Sure she hated males as is humanly possible, but she rocked nonetheless.

Here's what my party from BG1 would be like in BG2:

    Me (Priest of Talos)
    Kagain (a real tank)
    Edwin (best mage ever!)
    Montaron (psycho assasin/fighter)
    Xzar (psycho necromancer)
    Shar-Teel (god I miss her...)

    Is that too evil?
