Well yesterday my Wizardslayer and Aerie took on the Shadow Dragon and I have a few questions. I know the spell failure goes through all his silly protections and I know I hit him plenty of times but I don't remember him failing to use wing buffet or cast his spells the entire fight. I couldn't catch everything he did because I was winning and so didn't pause much but I did notice he got off plenty of skills/spells. Any ideas why? Particularly Velve Zauviir, you're the Wizardslayer expert around here, what's up with this?

I think that Wing Buffet and some other 'spells' are more like innate abilities or attacks, rather than spells you (Aerie) would use. Maybe that's why they can't be disrupted.

It could also have to do something with the dragon's script (although I'm really no expert on this). Maybe the dragon's script says he will do wingbuffet anyway. Maybe those spells just can't fail.

According to the other thread on Wizardslayers, the casting failure is supposed to work against every single opponent in the game. However, I've almost never seen anyone fail anything (not often at least. Now this could be because things tend to die if I can get hits in, or this can be because it doesn't really work that well.

I kinda think it has to do with scripts. I've gotten Improved Torgal to fail at his berserker rage, I think I could do the same to dragons unless they have a ForceCast() in their script. I'm not sure, but I know I was hitting.

Dragons do have the ReallyForceCast() for their abilities in their scripts. They can't be disrupted.

You're right about the wing buffet and breath being innates.
