There are a lot of ways you can go with her.

She comes specialized in the club already, which seems like a good option early in the game.

When she starts getting slots, this is where it gets difficult. I don't think there's a wrong answer here, but I'd just like to hear where you guys stick her proficiencies.

I think Daggers, Two Weapon Fighting, and one more star in Scimitars is a good way to go. Another option is to go with Staff, Two Handed Weapon Style, and later Spears.

I hate the idea that Jaheira is supposed to use a shield so I like that you left the option out :)

I think dual wielding scimitars is fun, but I mostly have her using quarterstaffs and spears. There are few characters who use spears and Impaler is very good. there is druid only staffs as well.

If you have Tactics mod, spears is the way to go. Bloodbane (very few are immune to its stun effect) and Impaler +4 are both awesome.

Scimitars is good too for Water's Talon.

Without mods, then slings. A high strength item and the sling of seeking plus GWW does a good job.

I always have her switch between spears and quarterstaff where the latter boosts the druid side while spears (especially Spear+3: Impaler until you beat Watcher's Keep in TOB) make her an versatile fighter caster. (Iron Skin and Armour of Faith saves the day So no need for shields)

I would prefer to ignore clubs. Not only do they look stupid but also there aren't many good clubs in the entire game

    No mods.

Do you think going with a 2-H weapon, and neglecting shields is a problem?

actually, you come across some decent clubs pretty early in the game.

just head to trademeet and do the djinni quest, then talk to the merchants.

one of them sells a very decent club that will last a time until you get something better.

anyway, i say scimitar and shield or spear for jaheira.

that scimitar you get in wathcers keep (dont remember the name) and the shield of harmony is a good combination. or one of the already mentioned spears

I used to equip Jaheira with scimitars only. Now, I've come to appreciate just how good she can be using spears (Ixil's Spike) and quarterstaves (just about any of them, but I have a fondness for the Staff of Thunder & Lightning).

I've had her equip the sling of seeking in the past. Effective, but to have a fighter stand back and throw rocks seems a bit of a waste.

I have a silly request here...anyone can tell me what's the original proficiencies of Jaheira at the start of BG1? So I can tweak her proficiencies of BG2 manually with SK and with less feelings of cheating. :D

    @HQ

As a matter of fact, I just started a BG1 game last night, so I can answer this. Remember, BG1 doesn't use specific weapons, so you get a list of different options you can use within each class.

She has two points in blunt weapons, which for the druid, include clubs and quarterstaffs. She also has two points in missile weapons, which for the druid includes slings and darts. Possibly throwing daggers as well, as I don't remember if BG1 counts a throwing dagger as a proficiency in small swords or missile weapons.

Theoretically, if you played BG1 to completion, Jaheira would earn two more proficiency points, which could be placed into either small swords (daggers) or large swords (scimitars).

Given that, you can justify placing her proficiencies in BG2 wherever you like...

    Blunt **
    Missile **

    IIRC.

The problem is that the proficiencies are much more focused in BGII. If in BGI you took proficiency in Large Swords you could use all of them (Longsword, Scimitar, Two-Handed, Bastard) except those not allowed by your class.

In this case (fighter/druid) it would translate to BGII as:
    Quarterstaff **
    Club **
    Sling **
    Darts **

EDIT - Damn, too slow. Congrats in beating me to it Aldeth. :D :p BTW throwing daggers are considered as daggers and so work with the Small Sword proficiency IIRC. You also forget to mention she can put points in Spear.

Dual weild Spectral Brand over belm for best results with Jahiera. Either that or Xils Spike. The impaler is gotten kinda late in the game, but works very well. Overall Ide go for two weapon style maxed out and scimitars specialized.
