The mighty Ranger/Cleric

    Any possible combination of Ranger and Cleric will get Druid and Cleric spells at the Cleric's progression rate. The arguement as to whether or not it is meant to be or whether it is merely an engine limitation is still up in the air, so far as I know. Powerful though, regardless.

    Heh...so if I dualclass my Cleric to Ranger immediately, I get to cast spells same as a multi R/C would, but only needing the xp for a single classed ranger, AND getting their awesoem THAC0 and attack bonus rate?

    That CANT be right. R/C's would be the godliest characters there are in that case. I'm off to play test.

    Edit: I just tested it. Heh...Bioware couldn't have been THAT stupid. It doesn't work that way. Only if the Ranger dual-classes to the cleric.

    Didn't somebody say that a Ranger can dual to a Cleric but not a Cleric dual to a Ranger

    I just did it while play testing. I created a lawful good Priest of Lathander, and dual classed him immediately into a ranger. Then I proceeded to CLUA his experience directly upto 3000000 xp. He only ever had 2 lvl 4 spells, which means that the R/C bug doesn't work both ways.

    Also, I didn't want to be bothered wasting time rolling for the stats, so I just used the cheat to set everything to 18.

    Well, why a bug? I suppose he continues to gain casting levels as a ranger, and as such can't go beyond lvl 3. A ranger dualed to a cleric gains levels as a cleric.

    @Shaman: It's a bug in the sense that R/C's get cleric AND druid spells all the way upto level 7, while in fact, they should only get them upto lvl 3.

    I just wanted to verify that it didn't work both ways, and I found that indeed, it doesn't.

    If you wanted to dual class a Cleric to a Ranger you would need:

    Minimum of 17 STR
    Minimum of 17 DEX
    Minimum of 17 WIS

    Remember, the prime stats for a Ranger are all three of the above, while WIS is the only prime stat of a Cleric, so it's easier to dual a Ranger to a Cleric.
