    Currently I am a L13 true neutral avenger and he's excellent. Doom and Chromatic Orb (usually) = instant death

    It makes more sense (and more fun) to me if the character can cast spells and fight, being a child of Bhaal and all. So I usually go for Fighter, Mage, Thief combinations or a Blade. As for alignment, I started out playing good characters but I've kind of switched sides to :evil: Evil :evil: and Chaotic Neutral. I just started my first solo run all the way from BGI with a CN Fi/Ma/Th Elf. :)

    I also love to play as an evil character. Lawful Evil Half-Elf Fighter/Thief was one of my favorites. I still don't like the class kits, simply because I like to develop a character from BG1 and import. I see alot of postings about the Kensai build but I don't get it, no armor, no bracers, no missile weapons = no way.

    I've played paladins forever. Monks are also fun.

    Lately, I've been playing two games:

    CG Ranger/Cleric (started as an archer, but got bored) in an all ranger and druid party. Interesting but I miss having a mage.

    NE Assassin -- oh my god. Brought a halfling from BG1 and had 201 starting thieving points (Dex and racial bonuses) plus the 175 you place during creation. He can handle all the thieving needed (with some magic items) and is a killing machine. Annah was my first experience at backstabbing -- this halfling is almost as good.

    Hm...importing my elven fighter with 20 dexterity (19 + tome of dexterity) and high ranks in bow devastated most enemies (I started BGI with a THACO of 14 and ended around 2 with bracers of archery equipped), but my favorite character would probably be a chaotic good sorceror or a neutral evil dual classed bezerker/cleric. (They are like paladins, only better in just about every aspect)

    And also, Archers are very good, as they can kill enemies unharmed(Usually Mages). Just Improved haste them and watch the fun.
