[IMG] There has been a lot of "specialised party" themed threads lately, and I'm going to add to it. What I'm interested in doing here, is designing a party with the sole purpose of being dragon hunters and disposing of every dragon in the game (the rest of the plot is by-the-by). Furthermore, I'd like everything about them to be as "dragonslayer-ish" as possible. I've put in a few questions (marked in italics) for which I'd love to hear your opinions.

WARNING - LONG POST CONTAINING LOTS OF SPOILERS

Dragons - here are all the "targets":

Firkraag (Red) - Windspear Hills (killed as part of Paladin quest)
    Thaxll'ssyllia (Shadow) - Abandoned Temple
    Nizidramanii'yt (Black) - Suldanessellar
Saladrex (Red) - Level 4 of Watchers Keep
Dragon ??? (Green) - Level 5 of Watchers Keep
    Draconis (Blue) - Abazigal entrance
    Fll'Yissetat (Green) - Abazigal caverns
    Abazigal (Blue) - Abazigal caverns
    Adalon (Silver) - Underdark
Dragon (Gold) - The Nine Hells (after encounter with the Demon: Pride)

Q: Any ideas on some of the names/types marked ??? above?
    Q: Have I missed any?

Trophies - here are all the collected "dragon body parts":

Red dragon scales - from Firkraag in Windspear Hills
Shadow Dragon Scales - from Thaxll'ssyllia in Abandoned Temple
Silver Dragon Blood - from Adalon in Underdark
White Dragon Scales - Level 3 of Watchers Keep (I think these are just lying there)
Blue Dragon Scales - from Abazigal
    Draconis's Head - From Draconis's dead corpse.

Q: Are there any other trophies?

Standard items - here are various items that are found/recovered:

Dragonslayer Longsword - Tomb of King Strohm III in Windspear Hills [St:6]
Dragon Scale Shield - Tomb of King Strohm III in Windspear Hills
Dragons Bane Halberd +3 - Beholder Lair / Cult of the Unseeing Eye [St:13]
Dragons Breath Halberd +4 - Rescuing Phaere from Illithids in Underdark [St:13]
Dragon Halberd (???) - There is supposedly another one in Athkatla. Any ideas where?
Dragon Helm - Firkraag's dungeon in Windspear Hills
    Sling +3 'Arla's Dragonbane' - Abandonned Temple
Shadow Dragon Wardstone - Abandonned Temple
Darkmail +3 - From Patrick in Abandonned Temple (alludes to dragons in the text) [St:8]
Ashen Scales +2 - From chest near Lassal under the Graveyard (splint mail made from Wyverns) [St:8]
Belt of Inertial Barrier - ??? (used against a dragon)
Dagger of Throwing +3 Firetooth - ??? (carved from a red dragon tooth)
Dagger +4: 'BoneBlade' - ??? (carved from a black dragon tooth)
History of the Dragon Coast - A book found at the Adventurer's Markt :)

Q: Can you think of any other dragon-items?

Created items - there are items that must be made by smiths/imps/etc.:

Red Dragon Scale - Forged by Cromwell from Red Dragon Scales [St:8]
Shadow Dragon Leather - Forged by Cromwell from Shadow Dragon Scales [St:6]
White Dragon Scale - Made by Cespenar from White Dragon Scales
Blue Dragon Plate - Made by Cespenar from Blue Dragon Scales
Human Flesh Armour - Made by Faer in Umar Hills
Carsomyr +6 - Upgraded by Cespenar from Holy Avenger and Eye of Tyr

Q: Are there any other forged items from dragon-parts or to create dragon-items?

Other items - these are items that would be appropriate for dragon-slayers (stat requirements are in square brackets):

    Holy Avenger/Carsomyr (2h-sword) - Recovered from Firkraag [St:14]
Crom Faeyer (hammer) - Forged by Cromwell from various bits'n'pieces.
Vorpal Sword (2h-sword) - From parts obtained from Saemon and a Githyanki [St:18]
    Heartseeker +3 - ??? [St:18]
Ring of Fire Resistance - ???
    Morningstar +2: Wyvern's Tail - [St:11]
Firecams Plate Armour (Keldorn) [wearable by Monks with St:15,Co:17,In:12,Ch:18]
Corthala's Family Armour (Valgyr) [wearable by F/C or F/M with St:6,Dx:18,Ws:11]
    Flail of Ages - Nalia's Keep [St:13]

    Q: Anything else?

The dragon-slayer party - Ideas for who I'd recruit (a completely custom party).

The empahsis here is on role-playing ideas, rather than necessarily min-maxing the party.

With four sets of dragon armour, I want at least four characters that can wear them. The Darkmail alludes to dragon slaying in the text, and the Ashen scales are wyvern make (close enough!). The Human Flesh Armour armour is arguably dragon-based, but it is also human-based, which is a bit yucky and a bit out-of-character. That's six.

Then I need to distribute the dragon weapons as best as possible. This doesn't leave a lot of room for bards/mages/sorcerers.

    Thus, my suggested party is:

Cavalier (foebane/dragonslayer, dragonshield, dragonhelm, red dragon armour)
Cavalier (carsomyr/vorpal sword, blue dragon plate)
    ??? (Dragon's Bane, Darkmail)
Barbarian (Dragon's Breath, white dragon armour)
    Cleric/Ranger (Wyvern's Tail, Arla's Dragonbane, Ashen Scales)
Archer (Heartseeker, Firetooth, shadow dragon armour)

    Q: What do you think?
Q: One left-over weapon is BoneBlade. To whom should I give it?

With the dragons, the one in Hell is just called Dragon and is a gold, IIRC. I don't think the green in Watcher's Keep has a name either. Fll'Yissetat is a green dragon.

Another trophy is the set of blue dragon scales from Abazigal.

Another appropriate character may be a Cleric of Lathander - a holy man seeking to rid the land of foul dragons. He would also be useful with his healing - important when fighting dragons :)

You forgot about the shadow dragon as a target. You'll probably want one mage to let the battles go bit more smoothly. Use dragons breath with him maximize the role playing effect.

The paladin has to be thrown out, or you just dont consider adalon a target, your choice. Adalon is a metallic dragon and killing a metallic dragon is something only the most evil person would do. Same goes for the gold (if it is a gold) in hell.

I remember seeing one dragon halberd thingie somewhere in Athkatla. Don't remember where, but it was there. I believe it's almost the same you get from the Underdark.
It reads in cavalier's class description that he is spesialized in killing all these "classic" monsters like dragons and stuff, so I think he would make a natural party leader, being paladin and all. Maybe you could also include one ranger type character and make dragons his favored enemy.

You will need a cavalier as the leader.
Ranger: Archer with fav. enemies as dragon, you need the classic archer when taking on dragons to shoot the beastie in the eye.
Bard: Skald to sing of your dragonslaying deeds
Sorcerer for his wanting of vengence against those who cursed his blood so and make him an outcast.
    Barbarian seeking glory.
Cleric of Tempus also seeking the greatest of battles.

Equip the cavalier with red dragon armor, dragon slayer sword, dragon shield, ring of fire protection and dragon helm.
Archer gets heartseeker and fires standard issue +3 arrows. Could wear shadow dragon scale.
Equipping a bard wouldn't be much of a priority. Maybe just some elven chain and and alara's dragon's bane sling?
Sorcerer sits at back wearing down the dragons defences for the archer, paladin, barbarian and cleric to whack at him.
Barbarian gets the Dragon's Bane halberd and wears white dragon chain.
Cleric enjoys blue dragon scale plate and probably flail of ages +5 to deal with the elemental weaknesses of any dragon.

I would substitute the Barbarian seeking glory for a Bounty Hunter seeking women and er Bounty.

I reckon the above party is short of a much needed Thief class.

Well if you throw in Paladin just make sure not to for silver. And since you dont want human armor it works out nicely.

Here's two more good, role-playish armours:

Wyvern Scale: Made from dragon's little cousins, can't for the life of me remember where it's found.

The armour Shadow Patrick drops in the temple. Although the description doesn't say it specifically, it mentions great fire-breathing creatures, and gives fire resistance...

I think you got your idea of bounty hunter wrong, A bounty hunter hunts down criminals and hands them over to the authorities or whoever they may be working for, for a certain amount of money, or bounty.

if you want to take a theif class, i'd bring a swashbuckler, they would seem more suited imo, he seems more a heroic type theif.

Wow... thanks for all the replies! I've updated the original post, rather than reposting all the details about items, etc., however, here is the revised party:

Cavalier (foebane/dragonslayer, dragonshield, dragonhelm, red dragon armour)
Cavalier (carsomyr/vorpal sword, blue dragon plate)
    ??? (Dragon's Bane, Darkmail)
Barbarian (Dragon's Breath, white dragon armour)
    Cleric/Ranger (Wyvern's Tail, Arla's Dragonbane, Ashen Scales)
Archer (Heartseeker, Firetooth, shadow dragon armour)

There is one character I can't decide. Ideas?

One unallocated dragon weapon is Boneblade (a throwing dagger). To whom could I allocate it?

Also, one of the posts mentioned by leslie mentions Yellow Dragon Armour and Incarnadine Dragon Armour. What on Faerun are they? Are they from a Mod or something?

Hmm... but then I have a halberd left over. Thieves can't use halberds. And, I think the halberd is more compelling than the throwing dagger (which I can just give to anyone as a "backup" weapon).

I think your Archer's melee weapon could be a halberd.

And yes - Yellow Dragon Armour is from Tactics Mod and Incarnadine is from Item Upgrade mod.

The description of the +2 Large Shield contains an amusing dragon anecdote but is otherwise unrelated. It's found on one of the members of Samia's party in Firkraag's dungeon IIRC.
