J's high level dot seems to be the best thing since sliced bread!

Played the game through a few times 2 years ago and never used J as a party member since she can be a pain sometimes. I'm playing thru again with a few mods including Check The Bodies and I figured what the hell..lets give her a shot and see what druids can do....

Only at chapter 3 right now doing the various stronghold quests and AHEM didn't realize the 5th (6th?)level druid dot hits multiple enemies and proves such a great distraction on both spellcasters and melee fighters. Its got me thinking perhaps I should Reroll a druid and play with the possibilities. I havent gotten Viconia to a similar priest level so not sure if a cleric can cast the spells as well. Any suggestions?

Druids level up extremely quickly. However they have the problem of a huge level difference between 14 and 15. Basically druids max out in soa at 1.5 million, but in tob start leveling again. Thus the smartest way to have played a druid in SOA was to dual class. However in tob a multi like jahiera, or a modded shape shifter, are probably your best choices.

You are talking of Insect Plague (Level 5) I think. This is a Druid only spell, so Viconia wont get it. Insect Plague and Call Lightning a group of spell casters and then go to work unhindered.

Like StrifeStrike said Multi Fighter/Druid is the best. But since you already have Jaheira why not use her! Your PC can be better F/D than her but she can be any other powerful class which is not already represented.

And Jaheira has something your pc f/d will never have, the possibility to raise dead with harper's call. The only thing she misses out on is Lesser Restoration.

If you're planning on making a new protagonist, play a Ranger/Cleric instead. They get access to both Cleric and Druid spells. Both the Cleric and Druid have weapon restrictions, but this combo starts you with ** in Two Weapon Fighting. Sweet!

Agreed on the Ranger/cleric. If you want the best of both worlds, you can make Jaheria a R/C using the Alternate NPC mod; you can find it in Icelus's list under NPC related mods.

But I find she's pretty powerful "as is".

Druids don't have the buffs clerics have, so dualling "only" gives you armour and grandmastery allowance. Good idea for a single-class human druid, anyway. Level 2 or 7. Level 13 fighter dualled to druid will have more attacks than a fighter druid, but at lower thac0. And only druid HLA's. Not like you really need the fighter ones, anyway. What endurance for if one has ironskin, hehe.

Then comes the 14-to-15 druid multiclass problem. Yea, the famous Breaking Point where druids become uber. Not only little spells before, but also at a crappily low level.

Well, but I still smacked Amy's butt a good time without having Jaheira level up to 15.
