Somehow the disc always ends up in my pc again. Recently played it through with a totemic druid + Aerie, Imoen, Jan jansen, Sarevok, and Valygar. That was quite interesting, since usually only Imoen is useful to me. I found the ToB portion of the aAerie romance to be interesting (creating new life seems like a Druidy thing to do :p )

Right now I'm going from TuTu through ToB with an evil Monk (although I'm on a bit of a delay, since the Shar-Teel romance doesn't seem to work properly, even if I start the whole thing over and not dual-class her).

Chevalier? What kind of paladin doe you play? Vanilla or a kit?

[IMG] Well, I must say, I am on my way through the entire saga for the third time. Just started BGII-Shadows of Amn. I have never used mods & play pretty much the same character (human fighter...I know ....boring). I still love this game, and consider it fun & exciting even now. I change my NPCs (if only for a bit), tackle dungeons/monsters with different stratagies, mix things up a bit... Baldur's Gate is just jammin'.

I will say that next time through, I am considering "modding" up with Tutu, Improved Anvil, Saerileth & Tsujutha NPCs, and whatever else I learn are good mods from exploring these boards. Matter of fact, it's these boards & people that keep the adventure rolling!
    Thanks all!

Well, you guys did the trick and for the last few days I've been playing both SoA/ToB and Tutu. Just reminded me what class acts these games are. They really do take some beating. Five/six years on? (that right?) and I'm still playing 'em.

    Mods I have are...

Saerileth NPC... (not sure if I recommend this one, she's a bit soppy "My beloved" constantly etc., grows old... pretty cool side quests though, IMO... you go to the Hive!).

Yasraena NPC... (cool NPC with a good sound set and character consistent banters, well made).

d0questpack... (This seems good... though I'm not sure whether the things I run into are from UB or this!)

    Unfinished Business... (see above).

NPC Flirt... (Love this mod! Breaks those 'boring' moments nicely).

Improved Valhalla... (because I always thought that the Horn of Valhalla was underpowered).

Banter Pack... (A must for me).

    Dungeon Be Gone... (Naturally).

Ascension... (not many aspects of it installed though... the glory of WieDu is that you can choose!)

Longer Road... (seems OK, especially if you've got 5 hours spare to read through the truck loads of dialogue... well written though)

    ... and yeah, I think that's it for BG2!

Then I have Tutu with the BG1NPC mod, which is very, very good and changed a hell of a lot in the game, but does it quite subtly, just the way I like it. I also have TutuGUI for the extra 'original BG authenticity'.

That's them all! Anyone else have any mods they'd strongly recommend?

I can't count how many times I've played through the game as a melee type, specifically as either a berserker or a paladin. The main method of making each attempt different is getting a different alignment, getting different party members, etc. etc.

Also, using different mods to add NPC's, banter, quests, endings, items, etc. helps a lot as well.

I'm having the same problem right now over getting myself excited enough to play the game. I've started two games recently that I've abandoned out of a combination of disinterest and having the feeling that I'm forcing myself to play it which makes it harder to keep going. I might give it a shot with the Saerileth romance, which I've never tried, but I'm also wanting to romance Viconia again.

And avoid Kelsey. He's well written and all that, but I keep wanting to slice him into bits after a while because he's so annoying. I still remember the time I had him in my party and when he died I just scavanged his items and left his body where it fell.

If Kelsey grates on your nerves a bit, I heartily recommend Keto. She maintains Kelsey's quality of writing and integration, but I find her preferable as a character. (The mod also has me providing voicing for an ogre, so you really can't go wrong!) Sadly there's no ToB content thus far.

I've played through SoA and ToB with Kelsey before. Cool mod.
