Hi. When I start a new game, it is fine for a while, but then it starts to stutter. I have the TOB patch installed, as well as a number of mods. SOS, TDD, Rogue Rebalancing, Item upgrade, Saerileth v. 4, Tactics, Improved Battles, Revised Forgotten Wars item pack, FR ROV, Unfinished Business, AbyStore, ShadowKeeper and probably a couple others. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Oh, and when I pause the game, it stops stuttering until I unpause it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. In case I have to reinstall it or something, I read something on SP I think, which I can't find now, about copying all the files on the disks to my hard drive and installing it from there to get a full install, which I can't seem to do otherwise. Any tips/corrections/don't do this you fool? Thanks in advance.

It could be some of the mods conflicting with eachother, perhaps causing a memory leak of some kind, slowing the game down after a while.
Perhaps this is to much trouble, but you could reinstall in another directory and add all the mods one by one, until you get the same slowdowns.
I don't think copying all you files to the harddisk and do a full install is going to work.

Have you got your latest motherboard drivers installed, you never know.

Man that sounds complicated. Hmm...I will remove TDD and see if that helps.

I get the same thing and I only have the official patch installed. And the same thing as you usually fixes it - pausing. Mine only stutters once in a while. I have never been able to tell why it starts. I think it has something to do with the graphics. Maybe BG2 has a problem with the newest DirectX drivers. It was designed for an old version. I have a fairly fast PC, and much faster than an old game like BG2 needs. Anyway, I just live with it.

Bah, I have a P4 3.2 GHz, a gig of RAM and a 256 meg Radeon 9800 and my game STILL stutters... :)

Atleast, its not that often. And disabling hardware accelaration helped in my case for some weird reason.

    See if it works.

Ok, how do I do that? Also, this seems to happen more prominently in the Underdark. Could this be a mod malfunction?
