    [IMG] Hello all!

I'm experiencing a recurring bug with the Jaheira romance... I fought Dermin and the next time I rested, Jaheira initiated a dialogue. When the party woke up, both Jaheira and Viconia had a problem with their movement.

Basically, I'll select one (or both) of them, and move the cursor to attack/move to another location. They'll start doing whatever action I've selected, then stop after about a second. It's rather annoying, especially in combat when they just stand there.

I've got the BGII/ToB patch 26498 installed, and also have installed the TDD Mod with the 103A patch.

    Any fixes for this?

This problem is usually caused by one of the multiple romance patches (concurrent romance scripts from memory). Since Jaheira and Viconia are affected that sounds like it's the problem in your case. Removing the patch should fix the problem.

[IMG] Thanks for the help, but...I don't have any of the concurrent romance hacks installed.

As long as Jaheira's RomanceActive global is "2", there's a movement problem. Changing it to "1" or kicking Viconia out of the party solves the problem; Changing Viconia's RomanceActive doesn't seem to make any difference.

I'm wondering if the concurrent romance hack came bundled with the Darkest Day mod, and its installed but I just don't know it.

Have you tried these simple things first:

    1) Moving from area to another?
    2) Then saving, exiting, and restarting the comp? :p
    3) Shutting down all background programs?
    4) Giving more HDD space (if the game has the minimum amount)
    5) Changing the AI path-finding value?

Try these, make your "troubled" characters run in pretty circles, and tell if that helped.

Try restarting the computer and do not open anything before starting BG2.

I know from experience that some Windows programs (Explorer especially) do not close properly and cause conflicts with the Infinity Engine that result in the infamous "stuttering" bug.

I've had this happen before: the cause was a conflict between a Happy Patched Jaheira romance and an unpatched Tashia romance. (Easy to install your mods in the incorrect order when you have 10+ to consider...)

The conflict occured when the second of the two (Tashia) had her RomanceActive variable upped to two. The solution was to finish the patch myself by opening up Tashia's dialogue scripts and remove the multiple romance detection.

I believe your problem is similar to mine. Did you complete, or at least progress far through Viconia's romance before initiating Jaheira's? Or vice versa? One of the two romances, I'd wager, has gone farther than it should. Since you do not have the happy patch installed did you by any chance try to manipulate thier romances manually via the console?

I had this problem too, but it went after I uninstalled TDD. If you dont want to try that, try reinstalling it instead.
