[IMG] You can pick up a fully charged Wand Of Wonder from the mindflayer lair in the Temple District sewers. I've personally never used it, generally having something more useful to do than fire off a random effect. Does anybody know what it actually does?

You already said what it does. Fires off random spells.

is it me or is there only 94% change of it casting a spell? 12*2+11*4+13*2 = 94%

Hmm, the built in obscenity filter is missing at least one very rude word. I think you may be correct that the wand is better sold than kept.

Chris - That was not meant to be an insulting obsentity, I apologise.

I guess it's just where I come from and was built up ;)

Apologies to all, I forget myself.

Heck, I don't mind. I find it quite amusing that SP has software that will blank out the correct term for a female dog, but misses the coarsest term for masturbation.

[IMG] I'm sure you realize that the meaning being blocked is not the female dog one. While the other censored term can only really be used as an insult (since in 3 years I don't think there's been one topic when anyone would discuss female dogs), the one Morsmordre used didn't really insult anyone. Unless we have some hard-core prudes here that would be insulted merely by seeing the word, that is. If so, they can send me a PM about it and complain and I might considering putting that word on the censored list as well. There aren't really words there, only the most obscene ones used most commonly.

    Now, back to the topic.

    It's not useless.
The pertification grants no save, and pierces magic resistance. A handy item for the occasional insane-diffculty solo-er.

I suppose the bad effect is when you target your ally, hoping for strength, stoneskin or haste, and end up getting petrify (no save either, as Scythesong says) or one of the damage spells. And vice versa for targeting enemies.

Exactly. That's why it's really a completely useless wand as far as I'm concerned.
