I have just ran into a problem I've not had before. I just completed De'Arnise to get the fighter stronghold and Nalia doesn't give it to me. She says I need to be a warrior type. My character is a Multiclassed Half Elf Fighter 9/ Thief 11. Is this a bug that can be fixed with a download, or does it have something to do with favored class?

Do you already have the Thief stronghold?
Thats the only reasoon I can think of for Nalia refusing to hand over the keep to you.

Yes, I sure do. Is that it? Is there any way of getting both?

Nalia carried a bug in the original game where she was too dumb to recognise that you already have a Stronghold. One of the fixpacks, probably baldurdash, nerfs this.
The ease-of-use mod has a component whereby you can get every stronghold out there, regardless of your class.
Other than that you can try editing Global Variables to suit you. Try searching the forums.
Just hope you have a save from before Nalia refusing you the keep.

Type this: CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("PlayerHasStronghold","GLOBAL",0), before you go talk to Nalia. You must have CLUA Console enabled. When you have stronghold PlayerHasStronghold is set to 1,that is why you need set it to 0.
If you don't know how to enable CLUA Console. :)

    Thanks for the quick replies.

Since I am 100% against enabling cheats the CLUA Console thing is out. I just downloaded the ease of use mod and installed the Multiple strongholds component. I guess that could be considered a cheat also.

Thanks for the help though. You guys and gals are great as always.

    It's 100% a cheat IMO.

Yep, getting around the rules to serve your own purposes is cheating.

But who cares? You're having fun, and that is what the game really is about. Aside from a little more XP, you're not gaining any super unbalancing items or anything crazy like that.

    IMHO:

    Extra Strongholds: Extra fun
Unbalancing powerful items(Celestial Fury +5, Pitchwife +5): No fun
