[IMG] Just a suggestion: Use a separate e-mail for personal and business.

My home e-mail never gets spammed.

The hotmail account I opened for internet transactions, registering for websites, etc...Get's tons of it!

It works well for me...Give it a try!

I just erase every single e-mail that comes from an unknown source. Takes about 20 seconds.

For my Hotmail, I have my security set on "high", and anything that comes from an address other than the ones I have in my address book, well, it gets punted to Junk Mail. I peek in there every week or so to make sure a long lost friend didn't get put in there by accident, but overall it works really well. Outlook express doesn't have such an option, but it does have some shunting features that allow you to put messages from particular people into a special folder -- in effect, this means that your Inbox becomes a sort of Junk Mail folder, but it works pretty well.

I've got hotmail, and use it to subscribe for stuff. I never get any spam though. Guess I'm just lucky. :)

    Hope I didn't jinx it ;)

The thing that annoys me about Hotmail junk is not the volume... it's the content! Some of that stuff is pretty outrageous considering that anyone (including kids) could be using it: would anyone else here grimace if I said that EVERY SINGLE DAY without exception I get an email advertising something to do with sex? I mean, I don't want "pheremones"/"genital enlargement"/whatever. I know that free speech is in the spirit of the internet and all that, but this is ridiculous - and it's ridiculous that MSN let companies advertising this kind of stuff have access to the list of hotmail usernames (I have no idea how else they would be able to find out my address).

Got the same luck Faragorn has, no matter what I do, I don't seem to get any spam. I'm even thinking about signing up to some of those discount or purely commercial sites just to see what spam is all about :D .

Yeah, I have also problems with junkmail, but I don't care anymore, since removing them has become a daily routine. I got every day from 15 to 25 mails from people I don't know. Those "genital enlargement"-mails are very common. Some of other spam mails are disguised to real mails like "Hi", "Please respond this", "Can you help me?" etc.

[IMG] Well - I am not allowed my own address. And I get blamed for EVERYTHING that happens on the PC even though it's my mother giving out our address and everything! Honestly sometimes I just hate it here. My mother lectures me over everything that isn't my fault and never accepts responsibility!

The other day I was crying and she thought it was because she caught me being bad and told me off. Half an hour later she realised I'd dislocated my knee :flaming:

Well, I use yahoo and lerts just say that the Bulk Mail folder comes in handy. Of course, this morning when I opened my e-mail, I had 99 messages in my inbox of which perhaps 10 were spam.... *shudders*

I am a mailing list junkie.

I used to have loads of spam but I just kept blocking adresses... and the bulk mail works wonders :D

I know the first two verses of the EƤrendil poem! Well, not the proper spelling of some words but I do know them! :D Seven verses to go...

I get the same thing on my Yahoo Bulk inbox.

I don't even bother opening them. Just delete them all.

Sometimes I get porn adverts with ekhm... examples. Not only full links, but also obscenic ugly cheap sluts with legs spread and similar stuff. I wonder if they (the two biggest e-mail services here) bothered checking if I were adult before allowing that to be sent to me.

Gah, Eze, you are SO lucky! I have to wait till who knows hoew long to see their cutenesses again... *sigh*

We got to visit the movie theatre's technical side today. I got to hold one of the rolls containing Reloaded in my grubby little hands :D

It was cool to be recognized as a regular by the staff, and told "You've already seen Reloaded of course..." :p

I used to get junk mail with pictures of horses and women. Sick. Now I just get aload of Penis Enlargement ones. Well they'd have a job on to enlarge something I don't have :)
