Weight lifting. It is my medicine. My brother got me started before he was murdered. It was like he gave me the gift I needed to help me deal with losing him.

@Rallymama: I am not a kid! I have 3. When I was a kid, I called sex "the unattainable dream" That unattainable nature added a great deal of stress to my life. Then I left the weird little microcosm of high school and entered the real world, and, well, "unattainable no more!"

Guitar, a lot of guitar. Nothing to keep your spirits up like a couple of black sabbath riffs. :p

Not the first time 'my sword' is seen as a reference to my wang. It's your sick minds people! I said nothing that hinted at that! :)

Come see pictures of my 'sword'. Shamelessly out in the open! Uncovered, uncensored, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

I hope no one takes Sorvo's advice seriously.

It wasn't until I hit thirty that I realized I had chronic low level depression. I never wanted to take med's but later realized I was already self-medicating with alcohol. It doesn't take much thought to realize which is worse for your body and which is actually going to help alleviate the pain.

Temporary depression is normal and everyone will have to walk thru some at certain points in there life. Excersize is always really helpful. As is talking with friends about whatever is going on inside to cause the pain.

If a person has ongoing depression, the best thing is to find a doctor who can advise a way to deal with it.

    That's my two cents

[IMG] I write. It doesn't help and usually makes it worse but that's the way I handle depression.

Faragon that's one nice sword you got there! Must have been expensive! (Wish I could own one too but I'm too young probably)

    How I handle depressions:

    -computer
    -PS2
-grabbin' a piece of paper and drawing some fantasy art

You dont handle a depression. You just go through it, with help or without it, and wait for the next one to come. Or you dont go through it at all.

I have a rollercoaster withoyut brakes inside my head. Also known as bipolar mood swings. I take meds to it every day... thank good after two years of wrong meds I finally have the right ones. Hell, I am so glad I have the right ones I get edguer than Lillacor if I don't get my meds!

How I handle it when I get to the pits of depression? I b*tch about it to people! my Deadjournal is a great way to vent, the phone bills of botyh me and my mother can be sky high at times, some people in the chat have witnessed some great attacks of *****ing...

Trust me, venting at people helps. It might not be about what your depression is all about, but complaining can do wonders to your peace of mind.

Also, computers, gaming, books, and chocolate are good for the blue mind...

(You know me... I am not a happy person)
