The papers here are calling him an "honorary Brit" - for no apparent reason other than he beat our best player in the semis, and he was playing against an Australian (who seem to beat us at every other sport).
    Pretty cool match, anyway.

I was glad that Goran won the Tournament, 3 times before he reached the finals, long ago. It wasn't his fault that he didn't win the tournament, twice a superior Pete Sampras and once a superior Agassi. And after that, he had problems with his shoulder etc. and felt from he 2nd place on the ATP-ranking out of the top-100. I never saw someone winnig Wimbledon so deserved and I was never so happy that someone won Wimbledon except for the 1996 win of Richard Kraijcek.

    congrats to Goran!

Goran's such a fantastic player, without a doubt the best player not to have won a Major, till a month ago. He played the best tennis I've ever seen from him, and that means he's simply the best on grass, only second to a Sampras playing his best tennis.

And, of course, Henin and Clijsters :)

Btw, Gormenghast, I'm sorry but you're in for a disappointment. Rafter won't play any tournaments the first 6 months of 2002, that's already a 100% certain, and whether or not he'll ever get on the courts again'll depend on how he feels at that moment. I'll surely keep my fingers crossed for the return of one of the most charismatic players of the turn of the century.

Ok, I haven't brought this up because I see it as just another ground for my abusive  smileys.

But, would you please check my profile?
    Wildfire :p

Still, I remain against threads like this and I won't post another note here no matter what BTA and Darien say about it. Nor will say that I'm sorry for anything. I'm not sorry and I won't lie. The proper place for things like this should be chatroom IMHO.

To keep my role, here are just some tomatos:

Ah... no, actually. This would be the proper place, Extremist. If you don't like it, skip it! Not everyone has time nor inclination to spend hours in the chatroom. Just because you don't care to discuss it, doesn't mean others can't.

[IMG] I'm glad about Goran getting the big win and all - But the only tennis star I really like hearing about is Anna Kournikova. :D :D ;)
