I think that they should come out with a Baldurs Gate Movie. It would be a great idea.Im pretty sure it would make some money too. Your thoughts

    Topic moved to Whatnots.

As for them doing it and making money... I doubt it. The whole thing'd be very much like the Dungeons & Dragons movie I expect.

Would be nice but no a success for me, I wouldn't like it for I already know how it ends..... Maybe that's also a problem with LOTR the movie, however that movie has way better Story, better actors and better graphics then a movie like D&D.

Tomb Raider was or is a succes.

The movie can't just rely people wanting to see it because of the title. They Have to promote it like any other movie. If the plot is great (it is). If the story is solid ( naaah) and the special effects are great (could be) There is no hinderence why it shouldn't be a succes.

The problem with "D&D the movie" was too little promoting, low budget like, and too short. and boring plot. IMHO

The problem with D&D was that it was poorly done. The characters all spoke like anyone else! What's up with that?

Haven't seen Tomb Raider, is it worth it? Seems just too much a regular action movie to me... Final Fantasy, that all of you should see that movie, it rocks!

  8. I think there would be a great response to a BG movie that has been well done with a good director and good actors. Not so much because of the game, but mainly because it's a good story. And with lots of financing and some hype about the movie I think it could make alot of money.

+ if it is released somewhere around the release of any of the LOTR movies and that is as great as it looks, people will probably want more of that kind of stories instead of all these boring mainstream movies they make nowadays

Headbanger, your impressions about TR are correct. They did the technical bit well, but the story is pathetic. And the father/daughter relationship as shown in the movie could be the base for a long psychiatric study... Lara really has some serious complexes. :D

Personally, I kind of liked the FF movie. Just don't go there expecting it to be like FF. Take it for kind of a whole different movie altogether.
