The sun rises and sets and hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south and north, here and there, twisting back and forth, getting nowhere. The rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows again to the sea. Everything is so weary and tiresome! No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content. History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. 10What can you point to that is new? How do you know it didn't already exist long ago? We don't remember what happened in those former times. And in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now.

    Powerpuff i agree with you the answer that i have found to the meaning of life is that NEVER EVER ask what the meaning of life is and if there is a reason behind it. If you start to ask those question seriously and really think you will eventually go insane or join a strange cult with the all the answers and no questions.

    its true, mat, that nothing is entirely new, and yes nobody is gonna look back and say "fategg posted on this board" a hundred years from now. but as i said, it is my opinion that the point is simply to live! to experience life, friendship, love, and all of the great things in life. these are things that everybody needs, and since we can not change the fact that we are alive, aside from killing ourselves, you might as well make the best of it. perhaps youre right mat, and there is no point, but there is still life, pointless though it may be. and since there is life, and most of us naturally cling to it, why not experience it all?

    Be warned: There is no end of opinions ready to be expressed. Studying them can go on forever and become very exhausting! Here is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is the duty of every person. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.

    My god taluntain that's the best answer i've heard. WHY NOT? Why is the grass green? WHY NOT? Why is the sky blue? WHY NOT? Why do we live? WHY THE HELL NOT? You don't get all worked up over why a rock falls downwards instead of upwards, you just accept the damn fact and be happy with it, right? WHY NOT???

    Well, (in the wise words of Tal) why not.

    Numbers only exist as symbols to represent amounts in a way our primitive brains can comprehend. So by telling us that the meaning of life is 6*6=42 it shows that life does not follow the rules and breaks the barriers of conformity.
    Until one understands that numbers and figures have no meaning in the universe we will never understand life.
