They weren't pressured by their daddies to do something great and he was a MAN. Didn't even love an elf, like Ara did. Sorry, I am a fanatic of him and I have that weird tendency to judge people by their opinion on Boromir.

[IMG] But Noir, one does require faith in the force to use the force no?

    Anyway, back to the topic.

    ok, back to topic.
i'd choose Sam, his loyalty extended beyond the "death" of Frodo. despite not knowing what to do, he knew he had to complete Frodo's mission. of course this is based on the books.
for the movie, for acting, it would be Boromir and Gollum/Smeagol. for the action, Legolas... I loved the skateboarding. others would include the cave trolls.

My favourite was Aragorn (human ranger) in books however I liked that Balrog more in film.
Still, I think Viggo Mortensen did a good job and not disappointed me as Aragorn. Balrog was an awesome image although he can't be counted as a character.

Balrog was by far the best effect I've ever seen in a film. It was a thrill indeed to watch on the Extended Edition's specials how Balrog was greated. Truly awesome. All of the scenes including Balrog in both FoTR and TT were extremely powerful emotionally, due to the nature of this battle between two great beings, and the incredible visual effects, or rather, lack of them. As they said, the greatest accomplishment for the effect group would be when the viewer would ask "what effects, I didn't see any". :)

    Padeen, check here.

Aragorn is really cool, they made Legolas IMO a little bit...happy :) and Faramir looks like a good ranger. In books my favourite was Faramir but in movies Aragorn really rocks.
