While scrolling the Internet, I came upon this test, Political Compass

Not all too surprising, I am almost precisely on the cross point, I lean only a bit towards left.

    No surprise for me either.

    Economic Left/Right = +5.50
    Libertarian/Authoritarian = -2.51

The government should stay out of my wallet and not tell me (or anyone else) what to do.

Nor am I surprised - I was close to the middle of the "Libertarian Left" quadrant.

    Economic Left/Right: -4.12
    Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.56

dmc has it right - keep the government too busy providing national security and transportation infrastructure to bother with my wallet or my bedroom!

No, surprise, I am liberal. States and churches can mind their own business and leave mine alone.

At least I ended up in the quadrant I thought I would, if not a little bit on the outer edge:
    Economic Left/Right: -7.12
    Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62

Though I am honored to share this sector with such personalities, I guess the fact that I sit farther out than them means I will never get to rule a country :hahaerr:
    Great test though !

Yes, that's about it, so far as my policy goes. I still vote right and not left because of ideological reasons - that is when I vote at all. Commies should be smitten.

Heh, it looks like I ended up being more liberal in economics and more authoritarian than last time when I took this.

    Economic Left/Right: -4.00
    Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.59

    I'm nearest to... the Pope?

Did you know that you are in the same general sector as the communists, chevalier?

@ Chev - The lower (more negative) your economic number, the more of a socialist/commie you are. :D

Leftist Libertarian, not much of a suprise.

Well then they really wouldn't be able to much of anything at all then. I doubt that would be good for anyone.

I'm probably a Marxist, but I don't think of myself as one:

    Bottom right:

    6.50
    -6.21.

Many of the questions were ambiguous of course. For example, "it's natural for children to keep secrets" - does that mean they're going to do it or does it mean that it is ok that they're going to do it? Bunch like that.

There's a similar site with some, IMO, better/tighter questions. You have to give an e-mail address to take the test, but I'm not sure they check it (or you can just give a floating one you create to give to sites like that):

    www.politopia.com

On that one, I live next to Drew Carey and can see Ayn Rand's house pretty close nearby.

Funny to get a result that says, 'you're near Milton Friedman and.... Drew Carey.' Drew Carey? If you are in another quadrant does it say, 'you live near John Rawls and the Spice Girls'? ;)

All these things are fun really.

Very close to Gandhi and Mandela, and I'm proud of it.
I'm communist to the bone, and in the most phylosophical sense of it; that's why I always feel sad and angry when I think about how the communist ideology has always been deceived by those who claimed to apply it.
