I'm assuming that you like BG for the involving story, and not just as a hack-n-slash game. If so, NWN is pretty much like BG. Except it's designed as a single player game.

The henchmen in NWN are quite competent and can make up for any skills you lack, so you won't have to worry about having to make a jack of all trades char, and can still concentrate on a theme for your main char.

The fact that the game is geared toward a single char may be confusing if you're more used to having control of a large group, as you do not have full control of your henchman.

Personally, I don't find this a problem, as I always played BG with just my main char, and left my group behind, rarely having one or two of them actually following me into combat.

I like not having to worry about a huge party. your henchman look after themselves as far as equiment and skills go so basicly it alot more like real AD&D :)
you have your char you power them up any equipment you find goes to this char or you sell it. in that regard it kinda more like Diablo then BG but it is far more indepth then diablo and the quests are great so in terms of everything except your char the game is like BG
in my opinion you get the best of both worlds :D
