I can't figure out how to get into the Portal to the Grand Hall in the Illithiad city. I have already killed the Eye Tyrant and returned to the Illithiad city to tell the main Illithiad. I just get the message "nothing seems to happen" when I try to use the portal. In the tavern I had two characters mention that there are some guards near the portal but when I went out there, there are no guards there. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks

That's weird, I only got the quest to get that Mirror to them, nothing about beholders or anything. Are you sure you're not supposed to go back to The Seer and tell her?

Did you ever attack them? Or have you played with that character in a multiplayer session and attacked them, or had another character that had attacked them before joining your session? If so, that could be the cause. There are an insane amount of multi-player bugs and the plot and game play are heavily effected. If you haven't done a multi-player session, then perhaps you haven't finished ALL of the quest. Try checking your journal. Hope this was helpful, but I'm sure someone else may have a better answer.

I ended up going to the official NWN website to post this same question and found out that it is actually a known bug. Apparently I don't have get back in to finish the game anyway.

The HotU main module wasn't made with multiplayer in mind, ya know.

This bug has nothing to do with the multiplayer thing. I've been playing it solo. I just wish that bioware would hurry up and fix the problem.
