    Hey all,
I downloaded the PRC thingy recently but it said that I had to patch my game. This should not have bee a big deal but it meant using the old NWN cds to use the update functon (this is what I gathered from the message that popped up when I tried to install the PRC) which would be a porblem as the play disc has broken (not my fault, I assure you). I only have HoTU installed and nothing else. Is there any other way to deal with this or am I going to have to use the critical files thing stated on the bioware site?

just start nwn up as normal - there should be a button marked update near the bottom of the list on the launcher
hit this and it should patch your installation from the interweb without any problems

    Download the critical rebuild patch.

And you don't need a crack for nwn after 1.66. It automatically works without a CD.

So if i update Hotu via the update option on the splash screen, and update the original using the critical rebuild patch, would I be set or am I doing something wrong in ignorance? (Being a young male, I tend to not read the manuals to any piece of technology. I tried this time but I still may have missed something.)

Go to bioware site. Download the critical rebuild patch for your version. (I presume it'd be NWN+HotU in your case.) Run the critical rebuild. Play.

No need to touch the ingame updater or anything when downloading the critical rebuild.

And no, you don't need the old CD's. If you have HotU installed, you have NWN installed in the same install.
