Under the [Program Options] in the ini file. Enter the following: Debug Mode=1
    It IS case sensitive!

I cannot approve the previous post, since I have never tried that one in BG1 (I always use that line in BGII though)
In baldur.ini file of BG1, I have line: Cheats=1 under [Game Options].
I use Ctrl+Tab to make the console appear, by the way.

Isn't Debug Mode=1 the code for BG2 and TOB whereas Cheats=1 works in BG1? If so, you can use Debug Mode=1 in BG1 only if you've got Tutu installed.

Cheats=1 is the right thing to write, Debug Mode=1 does not work in BG1.
To bring forth the console it´s "Ctrl+Space"

Debug Mode=1 is like writing EnableCheatKeys in the console but works only in BG2.
To be able to use the console in BG2 you still have to write Cheats=1.

My BG2 ini file only has Debug Mode=1 and I can use the console just fine.
